Lucas Scafini raised to 5,000 in early position and Mahersh Selvakumaran called on the button. Joe Mouawad then three-bet to 22,500 in the big blind, and both opponents called.
The flop came 8♥5♠6♦ and Mouawad checked to Scafini, who bet 21,000. Selvakumaran called, while Mouawad got out of the way.
The Q♥ fell on the turn and Scafini bet another 44,000. Selvakumaran again called, and the 10♦ came on the river. Both players then quickly checked, and Scafini showed A♥K♠. Selvakumaran, though, turned over 7♥7♣ to win the pot.
"I decided to change my strategy," Selvakumaran said as he raked in the pot.
