More Notables on the Rail

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Charles Chattha got moved to the feature table and shoved in the first hand with pocket kings for 36,000, a player called on the button with jacks and the player in the small blind found pocket aces. The jacks won it all.

Amir Mozaffarian was all in with {A-} {Q-} on a flop of {Q-} {8-} {9-} and got called by {K-} {J-}. The {8-} turn changed nothing, but a king on the river gave Dimitar Yosifov the better pair.

Other big names to hit the rail include Team PokerStars Pro Theo Jorgensen, Dragan Kostic, Sam Cohen, EPT Vienna champion Oleksii Khoroshenin and Stephen Chidwick, who finished third in the Super High Roller here in Prague.

No Showdown Smit

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Dennis Smit had a pretty ok Day 1, and so far on Day 2 things are going well again. Smit told us that he didn't have any big showdowns yet today, but he did gather lots of chips.

In one of the bigger hands his three bet got four bet by Gaëlle Baumann and Smit made the call. They checked a {K-}{Q-}{4-}{A-}{10-} board till the river, where Smit's bet eventually went uncalled.

Another big pot was a three bet pot where Smit bet every street on {Q-}{4-}{2-}{Q-}{X-}. His opponent called pre flop, flop and turn, but folded to Smit's river bet.

Shannon Shorr
Shannon Shorr

Shannon Shorr was rearranging his chip stack and needed some time for that, he had a lot of chips. Shorr was about 200,000 richer than we thought he was, so we asked if we missed anything big.

Shorr told us that he recently eliminated his right neighbor. They got in 145,000 each where Shorr had the advantage holding pocket aces. His opponent had pocket queens and couldn't catch up.

It was only later that we learned the suits and board of the hand. Shorr had {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades} and was up against {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. The board came {5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{K-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Shorr's opponent got eliminated.
