Baumann Bounces Back a Bit

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Galen Hall opened to 250 from under the gun, Gaelle Baumann called on his direct left, and Guillaume Darcourt defended out of the big blind. The dealer fanned {j-Spades}{9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, Darcourt checked, and Hall continued for 500. Baumann bumped it up, raising to 1,500, and only Hall called.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds}, Hall knuckled, and Baumann reached for a blue T5,000 chip. She announced a number that was less than 5,000, however she spoke so quietly that it was inaudible for our reporter.

It was apparently enough to chase the American away though, because Hall flicked his cards into the muck.

Team Pros Force River Folds

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

It's not always easy to find a fold on the river when you've invested so much into a pot up to that point. Tim Adams and Taylor Paur had to do that in hands just now.

Adams was heads up with Angel Guillen after he was the only player to call a 300 raise pre flop. The Team PokerStars Pro went on to bet 400, 1,050 and 2,200 on each street of a {3-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} board. Adams stuck with it but the last bet was too much for him to call.

Moments later Richard Toth was battling in a big hand with his neighbour, Taylor Paur. On the turn of a {6-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} board, Toth led for 750 from the cut-off and was raised to 1,900 by Paur. Toth came back with a big raise to 5,600 and Paur called after some thought.

The river fell as {6-Spades} and Toth led for 11,800. Paur admitted defeat and folded.

357 And Counting

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

With about 90 minutes of late registration left there are now 357 players in today's Day 1 flight. If you have €10,600 laying around you should rush over here and grab yourself a seat!

Mizrachi Misses

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Antonio Matias tossed out a bet of 2,000 on a board of {5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, and Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi quickly raised to 4,500. Matias called.

The river was the {q-Spades}, and Matias fired out 5,500. Mizrachi begrudgingly folded the {a-Clubs} face up, and in return, Matias showed the {a-Spades}. He then smiled, and revealed the {5-Hearts} for trip fives.

After stumbling out of the gate, the two time World Series of Poker $50,000 Poker Players Champion is down to 23,500 chips.
