Steven Moss is keeping his head above water in the biggest tournament of his life.

After successfully picking Team Lex Veldhuis in the inaugural Scoop League, Moss navigated a field of over 200 players to land a package to the ESPT/UKIPT Main Event in a freeroll tournament.

After a shaky start, Moss is now back above starting stack and the Englishman who normally plays £20 buy-in tournaments in his local pub, is dreaming of making it into the money.

Four players saw the flop of 6♣5♦4♥, with 5,500 in the middle. Rafael Jurado Flores in the cutoff bet 3,700 which got the button to fold and a call from the big blind.

The middle position player raised to 14,000 which was called by Flores, and the big blind let go of his hand.

The 10♥ came on the turn and middle position shoved and was snap-called by Flores for 36,100.

It was a malfunction at the junction as the middle position player ran into Flores's set of tens and was drawing dead. The 8♠ completed the runout and Flores moved into six figures.

Life Outside Poker is a new podcast for PokerNews hosted by Connor Richards that seeks to pull back the curtain on poker players and allow viewers and listeners to get to know them on a personal level.

For the sixth episode, Connor spoke with longtime poker pro and coach Faraz Jaka, who was fresh off a runner-up finish in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) $25,000 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold'em Championship. Jaka talked about running up a six-figure bankroll in college, going broke and moving down stakes, battling back from a debilitating back injury to win his first bracelet in 2023 and running deep in this year's $25,000 Heads-Up Championship.

Jaka also talked about his site Jaka Coaching, discussed what makes a good poker coach and offered advice for players looking to grind the WSOP this summer.

This interview took place at the 2024 WSOP in Las Vegas and was filmed inside Horseshoe Las Vegas.

Jennifer Steele in middle position bet 1,300 and was met with a raise to 2,500 from the hijack which Steele called.

The hijack continued for 2,500 after the Q♥J♥5♦ flop and was called by Steele.

Both players checked the 9♣ turn, but the hijack fired once more on the 7♠ river for 7,000. Steele cut out calling chips and threw them into the middle. The hijack turned over 3♦3♠, while Steele tabled A♦J♦ for second pair to take down the pot.
