Montreal Nationals vs. LA Sunset

Day 1 Completed

Ladouceur Defeats Busquet, Keeps Nationals on Top

Marc-Andre Ladouceur has won this heads-up match in the Global Poker League Americas conference. The Montreal Nationals player defeated Olivier Busquet: 2-1.

In the third and final heat, Ladouceur took the chip lead early on and didn't look back. In the final hand, Busquet was all-in with {8-Clubs}{A-Hearts} and had to hold against Ladouceur's {J-Spades}{7-Spades}.

The {7-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}-flop immediately brought disaster for the LA Sunset. Ladouceur flopped two pair and the {7-Diamonds}-turn sealed the deal. The meaningless river was the {K-Diamonds}.

Thanks to the victory in this match the Montreal Nationals increase their lead in the Americas conference. They now have 153 points, while the LA Sunset add three points to their total, bringing them on 147 points.

The GPL-action continues in about an hour when Sao Paulo Metropolitans Byron Kaverman takes on Tom Marchese for the New York Rounders.

Ladouceur Levels the Match

This first heads-up battle of the day is a tight one. Marc-Andre Ladouceur just levelled the match by winning the second heat.

Olivier Busquet was down to 25,000 chips when Ladouceur opened to 2,225 in the 500/1,000-level. Ladouceur had {7-Spades}{J-Spades} and Busquet made the call, holding {9-Spades}{10-Clubs}.

Busquet check-called a 2,770-bet on the {10-Spades}{3-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}-flop, which gave him top pair. He turned two pair with the {9-Hearts}, but that gave Ladouceur a straight.

Busquet check-called the 6,470-bet and check-called a third time when the {a-Hearts} came down on the river. This time Ladouceur put his opponent all-in for his remaining 15,000 chips.

Busquet saw the bad news and both won one heat now. The three points Ladouceur raked in for his Montreal Nationals bring them back to the top of the Americas conference.

The GPL-app

The people of the GPL are working hard to get the stream back in the air. Meanwhile, you can take a moment to take a look at the Global Poker League App.

Follow all the action, view the standings, get the latest news and much more by downloading the GPL TV App. You can download it for Android and IOS.

Ladouceur Leads Second Heat

The stream was back up for a moment and we could take a look at both players chip stacks.

It seems like Olivier Busquet has lost a big pot to Marc-Andre Ladouceur. The Montreal Nationals manager is leading this heat with almost three-quarters of the chips in play in his stack.

The Global Poker League stream went down before we could see one hand of play. The GPL has paused this game because of the technical difficulties.

Eigths Give Busquet 1-0 Lead

Olivier Busquet just scored the first three points of this match. He won the first heat of this heads-up battle against Marc-Andre Ladouceur.

In the last hand, Ladouceur went all-in with {A-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Busquet quickly called with his {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}.

Ladouceur needed an ace, but the {3-Hearts}{3-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{6-Spades}-board didn't provide any help.

Busquet is looking to add another win to his impressive Global Poker League career so far. He now scored 51 points in the GPL and his team, the LA Sunset, are now tied with Ladouceur's Montreal Nationals for the top spot in the Americas conference.
