Haikal Picks One Off

Level 8 : 300/600, 50 ante

Jimmy Plew and Elias Haikal were two of the four players who saw the {j-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop for 1,300. The action checked to Haikal and he bet 2,200. Plew called and the remaining players folded.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and both players checked. The river was the {2-Clubs} and Haikal checked again. This time Plew bet 3,500 and Haikal called.

Plew showed {a-Spades}{k-Spades} and Haikal would win the pot with {9-}{9-}.

Mr. and Mr. Smith

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Vashon Smith just eliminated Wayne Smith when he made his hand on the river.

Four players saw the king high flop with two diamonds. The action checked to Wayne Smith on the button who bet 3,000. Then Vashon Smith shoved all in for 19,000.

Wayne Smith called and showed {a-}{k-} for top pair, while Vashon Smith had {q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and was on a flush draw. The {10-Diamonds} completed the flush on the river and that was the end of Wayne Smith's day.

Kennedy's Role Reversal

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante
Mike Kennedy
Mike Kennedy

Earlier in the day, Mike Kennedy was walking away from his seat thinking he was eliminated, or at least about to be. Now he is among the chip leaders.

Mike Kennedy got in a three-way all in with Kwynn Richards and Gerald Will and thought his {5-Spades}{4-Spades} was never going to keep him in the tournament. Richards had {a-Spades}{q-Spades}, for a better flush draw and Will had a set of eights.

The flop was an eight with two spades and the three players got all their chips in. Kennedy was the one behind and at risk, but a {4-Diamonds} on the river gave him a pair, when both his and Richards' flush draws didn't get there.

Fast forward to a few levels later, Kennedy is still in and cruising pretty well and now he's busted Will.

The two got all in preflop and Kennedy had aces, while Will had queens. The board was no help to Will and he hit the rail. Kennedy stacked the pot and is sitting among the bigger stacks at this stage of the tournament.

Reichenbacher Shows Quads

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Joseph Reichenbacher raised preflop to 1,400 and four players called.

The flop came {j-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs} and a player acting before Reichenbacher bet 1,200. Reichenbacher raised to 3,000 and the original bettor called. The two were heads up.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and his opponent checked. Reichenbacher bet 4,000 and his opponent reluctantly let his hand go.

"I'm going to fold a good hand," he said.

"Show me, I'll show you," replied Reichenbacher.

His Opponent showed {j-}{8-} and Reichenbacher showed pocket twos for quads.
