Patterson Binks on Spears

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Brian Patterson raised to 80,000 in the small blind and Andy Spears ripped from the big. Patterson called with {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs} but saw bad news: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}.

"Jesus," he said in disbelief.

The {4-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{8-Clubs} brought more grim news as Spears could turn him dead, but the {a-Spades} turn kept him live going to the river. He needed a queen and the {q-Diamonds} arrived to save him, much to his amazement.

Jimmy Stevens
Jimmy Stevens

Jimmy Stevens was all in for 164,000 when we got to his table, having defended his big blind and seen a {9-Spades}{j-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop. Christopher Lee was thinking in late position and then pushed calling chips in.

Christopher Lee: {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Jimmy Stevens: {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}

Stevens was drawing and bricked on the {4-Hearts} turn and {5-Clubs} river.

McIe Gets There on Ebanks Again

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Joe Ebanks opened action with a raise to 35,000 from the cutoff. Anthony McIe three-bet all in from the button, and after both players in the blinds folded, he asked for a count. The dealer quickly confirmed 278,000 and Ebanks immediately dropped a stack of chips forward to make the call.

Joe Ebanks: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Anthony McIe: {k-Spades}{7-Spades}

The board ran out {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}, good to give McIe the higher end of the straight and another double at Ebanks' expense.

A Few Hands at Table 7

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Iverson Cotton Snuffer has been getting three-bet relentlessly, the most recent of which was an open to 35,000 from the hijack. Joe Ebanks threw in a reraise of 106,000 and Snuffer remarked that his desire to not race is waning and that next time somebody comes over the top, he is going with it. Ebanks smiled and flashed the {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} as he took down the pot.

"You were in trouble!" Snuffer said.

"I believe it," said Ebanks. Snuffer told him he had a king and another face card.

The very next hand, Ebanks opened from the button and Anthony McIe reshoved for 146,000 from the small blind. Ebanks made the call, and the two turned up their hands.

Joe Ebanks: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Anthony McIe: {a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}

The flop came {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, pairing McIe's three but giving Ebanks outs to the nut flush as well as a wheel to chop. The turn and river came {7-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and McIe survived with the double.
