Ertl Sends Bardsley to the Rail

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Nils Bardsley
Nils Bardsley

Nils Bardsley was seen standing up behind his seat with no chips in play on the felt. After he left, Zach Gutierrez was kind enough to share some of the details. According to Gutierrez, the two got stacks in on the flop.

Nils Bardsley: {k-}{9-}
Fred Ertl: {a-}{10-} suited

When stacks went in, Bardsley had second pair and was up against the nut flush draw and overcards of Ertl. Ertl filled up to the nut flush on the turn and Bardsley was left dry on chips for Day 1a.

Moon and Ertl Chop One; Stybaniewicz KO'd

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Chris Moon raised to 2,800 from under the gun and was called by a player in middle position. Action then folded around to Fred Ertl, who called out of the small blind. Zach Gutierrez defended his big blind and the four saw a flop of {10-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{q-Spades}.

Ertl was first to act and led out, betting 3,500. Gutierrez folded and Moon raised to 12,300. Action folded back to Ertl, who appeared to ask if Moon was all in. The dealer appeared to confirm that Moon was not; nonetheless, Ertl called and seemed surprised when Moon moved his hands to display that he still had chips remaining.

The turn came {q-Clubs} and Ertl led out again for another 6,500. Moon postured for a bit and called. The river came {9-Clubs} and Ertl fired again, betting 15,000. Moon thought for around a minute and went all in for a total of 16,500. Ertl called the remaining 1,500.

Chris Moon: {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Fred Ertl: {a-Spades}{5-Spades}

Moon's flopped top two pair was counterfeited by the pair of queens that came on board, giving both players aces up with a ten kicker to chop.

Ertl told Moon afterward that he probably would have folded to the raise initially had he realized Moon was not all in. Nonetheless, the two found a chop and got ready to do battle.

While the hand was occurring, Krzysztof Stybaniewicz was seen leaving the tournament area. His hand was in the process of being mucked, though Tan Hoang's winning hand of {a-}{q-} was visible on a board of {6-}{4-}{a-}{6-}{7-} before the dealer gathered all the cards to begin to shuffle for the next hand.

Champlin Dusted

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Spencer Champlin was seen leaving his seat as a pot was being sent to Clayton Hamm. According to a player at the table, Champlin shoved his last 10 or so big in from the button and was called by Hamm out of the big blind.

Spencer Champlin: {a-}{3-} suited
Clayton Hamm: {a-}{9-} offsuit

Hamm hit a nine on the flop to leave Champlin drawing to running cards to stay alive. He was unable to do so and found himself eliminated before Level 10 came to a close.
