Last Break of the Night

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

The final 51 players are on their last 15-minute break of the night. Two more hours of play remain, consisting of three 40-minute levels across that timespan.

Garshofsky Finds a Huge Triple

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Mitch  Garshofsky
Mitch Garshofsky

There was already a chunk of chips in the middle on a board of {j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs} in a three-way pot between the small blind, Mitch Garshofsky in the big blind, and Danny Gonzales in middle position.

Action was back on Gonzales with both blinds all in and Gonzales thought for over a minute before deciding to call.

Mitch Garshofsky: {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Small Blind: {6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Danny Gonzales: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

Both blinds had two pair with Garshofsky looking primed for a triple. The other two were in contention for the side pot with the small blind having two pair, sevens and sixes to be ahead of Gonzales' aces. The river fell {9-Spades} to give Garshofsky a full house in addition to helping improve Gonzales to aces up to secure the side pot.

As a result, Gonzales still finds himself with over 150,000 in chips going into the last break of the night; meanwhile, Garshofsky now sits firmly above average with around 173,000 in his stack.

Graham Finds Four Ladies To Send Pineda To the Rail

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Pat Pineda had squeezed all in for his last 17,200 from middle position over an early-position raise and call. Action folded around to Ruth Graham, who went all in over the top of Pineda from the small blind to isolate the remaining players out of the pot.

Pat Pineda: {a-Spades}{7-Clubs}
Ruth Graham: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Pineda was behind and at risk for his tournament life. The board ran out {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{q-Clubs}, giving Graham four queens by the time the hand was finished. Meanwhile, Pineda got up and wished the rest of the table good luck as he exited the tournament with the chips that were formerly his sent Graham's way.

Garshofsky Gets Three-Bet Through

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Jon Cohen saw action folded to him in the cutoff and opened to 6,000. Mitch Garshofsky then announced he was all in from the small blind.

David Levi was in the big blind and asked if Garshofsky had about 29,000. The dealer totaled 29,400 and Levi thought for another 30 seconds before letting his cards go.

Cohen then checked his cards and sent them to the muck, resulting in a won pot for Garshofsky, who is back above starting stack with around 20 big blinds in his arsenal at present moment.

Mijares Boats Up To Knock One Out

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

A player was standing up from the one-seat to shake Richard Mijares' hand in the three-seat after being eliminated. There looked to be about 40,000 in the middle prior to river action with a chunk of red T5,000 chips committed on the river that were jumbled as the pot was sent to Mijares.

The board read {6-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{6-Spades}. Mijares' winning hand of {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} was tabled, as was his opponent's losing hand of {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. The full house for Mijares was thus good for the knockout, bringing him over 100,000 in chips along the way.

Martie Takes Peck To Value Town

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Svetlana Martie
Svetlana Martie

There was about 30,000 in the pot from preflop action as the dealer spread a flop of {3-Clubs}{10-Spades}{j-Hearts}. Svetlana Martie checked from early position to put action on Austin Peck, who was on the button and checked behind.

The turn came {8-Hearts} and Martie bet 15,000. Peck put out chips to call.

The river fell {4-Spades} and Martie counted her stack of about 35,000 before betting 21,000. Peck thought for over a minute and then put in a call.

Martie tabled {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and the dealer announced her queens. Peck sent his cards to the muck upon seeing the news.
