Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

An all in and a call had just happened as Sam Benavram had John Small at risk for his tournament life.

John Small: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Sam Benavram: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

The board ran out {6-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{j-Spades}, giving Small a set of kings on the flop as he became at least the third player to double up with 47 players remaining.

Su Won't Take It

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

There was around 120,000 in the pot on a board of {5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts} and Slater Dean was first to act, betting 36,000 into Jason Su, who was in middle position. Su raised to 121,000.

Dean then three-bet to 227,000, sending Su deep into the tank. Eventually, he announced he was all in. Dean's cards hit the muck immediately thereafter.

"Whew!" said Su as the pot was sent his way. Dean remained expressionless as he reached for a sip of his Voodoo Ranger.

Meanwhile, Su now has about 785,000 in chips and Dean finds himself at about 178,000, still with 47 players remaining.

Hamm Gets Lucky and Doubles

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Clayton Hamm had shoved all in from early position and been called by Rich Monroe in middle position before Danny Gonzales went over the top of Monroe, putting him to a decision for his tournament life. With action back on Monroe, he let his hand go and Hamm and Gonzales tabled their cards.

Clayton Hamm: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Danny Gonzales: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}

Hamm was at risk for his tournament life and way behind Gonzales' kings with his big slick. The flop was of no help to him, coming {10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. However, the turn {a-Clubs} gave him just the card he needed to pull ahead, though the nine remaining clubs and one remaining king in the deck would still spell elimination. He faded them all as the river came {8-Diamonds} to secure the double.

Lewis Finds a Double

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Syd Masters went all in from the button after action folded to him and David Lewis put his remaining chips in from the big blind, calling all in for less.

"Do you have aces?" said Lewis.

"No," said Masters. "If you ask me that, though, I have a feeling you have kings and I'm not in very good shape." Masters tabled his hand. Lewis followed suit.

David Lewis: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Syd Masters: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

The board ran out clean for Lewis en route to a double, coming {7-Spades}{10-Hearts}{j-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}.

Banghart Gets Another Knockout; Nears One Million

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Jeff Banghart
Jeff Banghart

Piles were already in the middle and Jeff Banghart let out a small fist pump as he had just won a massive all-in preflop situation against Hugo Meyer. Meyer was eliminated, marking the reduction of the tournament to 54 players and the breaking of the table that had just seen the action.

Banghart was happy to recount the action as his chips were racked, with 300,000-worth colored up as T25,000 chips were introduced into the tournament. He said that Robert Meglich had opened to 16,000 from across the table in middle position before Hugo Meyer three-bet to 55,000 from the cutoff. Banghart was in the small blind and cold four-bet to 165,000. Meglich folded, Meyer shoved, and Banghart called.

Hugo Meyer: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Jeff Banghart: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

The two were off to the races as the board brought a ten-high straight, coming {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. Banghart had a jack-high straight and took down the pot, bringing him to around 970,000 with six tables left in the tournament.

Harder Eliminated by Banghart

Level 16 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Charlie Harder
Charlie Harder

Another seat has recently been vacated as word has been confirmed Jeff Banghart recently eliminated Charlie Harder after the two got stacks in preflop.

Charlie Harder: {k-}{k-}
Jeff Banghart: {a-}{a-}

The unavoidable cooler delivered a fatal blow to Harder as he was unable to hit a king on the flop, finding himself dry on chips and eliminated from the tournament. Meanwhile, Banghart's stack has vaulted up to just shy of 600,000 as he becomes one of the biggest stacks in the room.
