Runner-Runner for Roberts

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante
Shawn Roberts
Shawn Roberts

A player in early position opened to 700 and was called by three opponents: Shawn Roberts on the button, Mike O'Neill in the small blind, and the player in the big blind.

Action checked all the way through on the {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop, and the pre-flop aggressor in middle position checked a second time on the {3-Clubs} turn. Roberts bet 1,600, and only O'Neill called.

After seeing the {3-} river, O'Neill checked, and Roberts fired again for 4,700. O'Neill snapped, and they flipped over their hands simultaneously, O'Neill showing {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for a flopped top pair and Roberts {q-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for runner-runner trips.

Heine Can't Shake Gerding

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Three players invested 1,900 on the {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{9-Hearts} flop to see the {4-Hearts} fall on the turn. Keith Heine bet 3,200 from under the gun, and William Gerding called from the cutoff, while the button folded.

Both players quickly checked the {8-Hearts} river, and Heine said, "You win," then mucked after Gerding tabled {k-Spades}{j-Hearts} for top pair.

"I needed you to hit your jack," Heine told Gerding.

Pelattini Four-bet Shoves the Flop

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Action folded around to Alex Pelattini, who opened to 500 in the cutoff. The small blind raised to 1,200, and only Pelattini called.

The flop came down {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades}, and the small blind continued for 1,500. After Pelattini raised to 3,500, the small blind didn't think long before three-betting to the tune of 9,000. Pelatinni tossed in a couple of chips as he quietly declared, "All in," and the small blind surrendered.

With a {5-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} board on the felt, Current HPT Season XV POY points leader Nick Pupillo bet 4,800 into a pot of 10,000 from the big blind. Jamey Kramer called in middle position, and the cutoff folded.

Pupillo bet 8,000 on the {k-Clubs} river, leaving himself 9,000 behind. Kramer tanked for a few minutes before flicking in a single chip to call, only to muck after Pupillo rolled over {a-Spades}{k-Hearts} for kings-up.

Lawson Lays Down the Law, Son

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Three ways to a flop of {j-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} with approximately 5,000 in the middle, the button threw out 2,200 when checked to. Jonathan Lawson called in the small blind, and a middle-position player folded.

The {j-Diamonds} turn went check-check.

After the {7-Diamonds} fell on the river, completing a backdoor flush draw, Lawson put out a bet of 4,400, and the button gave it up fairly quickly.

Izadi's Jam Gets Through

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

With approximately 10,000 in the pot on the flop of {5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}, Hamid Izadi fired 4,500 from the cutoff. Charles Leroi, next to act on the button, raised to 13,000, and Izadi thought for a moment before calling.

Both players quickly checked the {4-Spades} turn, but the same could not be said for the {3-Hearts} river.

Izadi jammed for 25,000, putting Leroi to the test for his remaining 17,000. Leroi found himself in the tank for a couple of minutes, ultimately deciding on a fold.
