Smyth Doubles Following Confusion

Level 7 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Marty Smyth
Marty Smyth

Johnathan Proudfoot raised to 3,500 from the hijack. The player next to act folded, but then Kenneth Broad called in the big blind. Once he was informed he had acted out of turn, Marty Smyth, in the small blind, announced a raise. This was also out of turn, as Conor Bergin had not yet acted on the button.

Once the confusion was cleared up, Bergin raised to 11,000 before seeing Smyth move all in for 50,500. Both Broad and Proudfoot folded, and Bergin called.

Marty Smyth: AA All in
Conor Bergin: AK

There was no help to be found for Bergin, as the J69J2 board kept the pocket aces in the lead, providing Smyth a double up.

Proudfoot Back In

Level 6 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Jonathan Proudfoot reentered straight away and, just as quickly, was back among the action.

Putting in a raise to 2,500 from under the gun, Proudfoot saw three callers, Marty Smyth included, who called in the cutoff.

Proudfoot continued for 4,000 on the KJ3 flop, which only Smyth called.

The 7 turn saw action check through, and the dealer completed the board with the 8.

Proudfoot assembled a bet of 22,000, and after some consideration, Smyth made a painstaking fold, flashing the K as he did.

Three-Way All In, Proudfoot Eliminated

Level 6 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Jonathan Proudfoot
Jonathan Proudfoot

Jonathan Proudfoot opened to 2,500 from under the gun, and immediately faced a three-bet one seat to his left. Roope Tarmi made it 7,200 before Marty Smyth responded with a four-bet to 25,000 in the cutoff. Proudfoot moved all in for 26,700, Tarmi moved all in for 88,400, and Smyth called, putting them both at risk.

Roope Tarmi: AA All in
Marty Smyth: AK

"You're ahead", quipped Smyth upon seeing the aces of Tarmi.

There was no help for either Proudfoot or Smyth, as the dealer put out a 436109 board, seeing Tarmi scoop in a big pot, and Proudfoot was eliminated.

Proudfoot Holds to Double

Level 6 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Seeing a raise on the button ahead of him, Jonathan Proudfoot moved all in from the small blind. Roope Tarmi called in the big blind, and the button player folded.

Jonathan Proudfoot: 4x4x All in
Roope Tarmi: AxJx

The flip of a coin landed in Proudfoot's favour this time, as his pocket pair held on to double up.

Quads for Bergin, Pudel First to be Eliminated

Level 5 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Conor Bergin
Conor Bergin

Conor Bergin opened to 2,500 from early position, which picked up a couple of calls before the action got to Nils Pudel in the small blinds. Pudel moved all in for his remaining stack, which only Bergin called.

Nils Pudel: QJ All in
Conor Bergin: 99

The 952 flop left Pudel in a precarious position, before the 9 turn sealed his fate.

The inconsequential K completed the board, and Pudel headed out of the tournament area.

Bergin Shoves on Sootla

Level 5 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Action was joined with 22,400 in the pot and a flop showing J29. Ranno Sootla put a bet of 9,000 into the middle from the small blind, which Conor Bergin called in middle position.

The 7 turn didn't deter Sootla, who put 25,000 into the middle. Once again, Bergin called.

Sootla slowed down on the 7 river, before choosing to fold when Bergin moved all in for 43,600.
