Palandiuk Comes Out Firing; Gisolfi Starts Active

Level 36 : Blinds 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante

Francesco Gisolfi opened 66 to 1,200,000 in middle position. It folded to Vasyl Palandiuk in the big blind, who defended A4. Palandiuk checked the 45A flop over to Gisolfi, who continued for 700,000.

Palandiuk then fired a huge raise to 4,800,000. Gisolfi quickly mucked his pocket pair, seeing his former chips being added to Palandiuk's stack.

One hand later, Gisolfi found 109 in early position and raised to 1,200,000. Matthew Twomey defended his big blind with Q7, and the flop fell 8A7.

Twomey checked it over to Gisolfi before quickly folding his bottom pair to the latter's bet of 700,000, surrendering the pot.

Edward Dunphy

Edward Dunphy moved his stack of 2,400,000 in from early position. Vasyl Palandiuk called on the button, and Isaac Barker did so in the big blind.

Palandiuk and Barker checked the 1073A9 board to showdown. Dunphy tabled K9 for a rivered pair, besting the QJ of Palandiuk and Q4 of Barker to take the pot and triple up.

Edward Dunphy Eliminated in 9th Place (€47,800)

Level 36 : Blinds 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante
Edward Dunphy

Vasyl Palandiuk made it 1,200,000 to go in the hijack. Edward Dunphy tossed in calling chips in the big blind before he checked the J5K flop.

Palandiuk flicked in the minimum bet of 600,000, eliciting an all-in raise to 6,300,000 from Dunphy. Palandiuk quickly called to put Dunphy at risk.

Vasyl Palandiuk: K10

Palandiuk had flopped the higher pair for a big lead. The 7 turn did not help Dunphy in any capacity, and the 3 river bricked off as well.

Dunphy was left without chips and was eliminated in ninth place, being the first player to depart from the final table.

Gayko and Nedelcu Battle in Back-to-Back Hands

Level 37 : Blinds 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante
Oliver Gayko
Oliver Gayko

Narcis Nedelcu saw A6 under the gun and raised to 1,600,000. It folded to Oliver Gayko, who defended his big blind with A7. Nedelcu tossed in 2,200,000 on the KJ8 flop, enough to take the pot as Gayko quickly folded.

On the next deal, Gayko raised to 1,800,000 in the small blind. Nedelcu was in the big blind and three-bet to 6,000,000. Gayko called, and the 7108 was spread.

Both players tapped the table for a check, and did so too when the 9 arrived on the turn. Gayko then barreled 5,000,000 chips on the 7 river, sending Nedelcu in the tank.

The Romanian regular spent two time banks before he called, but his 95 was no match for the 66 of Gayko, who chipped up with his turned straight.
