Baker Secures Huge Double Up Through Shine

Baker Leads to Double Up

Shean Lai raised to 800,000 from under the gun and Derek Baker defended his big blind. The 4♣A♣6♥ flop saw Baker check-call a 400,000 continuation-bet from Lai before the J♥ turn was dealt.

Baker then promptly shoved all in for 3,950,000. Lai asked for a count and committed a call not long after.

Baker had turned two pair and had taken the initiative with his over-bet. The 5♦ river did not upgrade Lai's hand, and most of his stack went Baker's way, who ended up with an eight-figure stack.

The K♣6♣6♦ flop and 4♣ turn was then checked by both players before Geleziunas made a bet of 1,000,000 on the 2♣ river. Baker quickly called, but mucked his cards just as quickly when he got shown A♣8♥ for the nut flush.

Shean Lai open-raised from the cutoff before Cathal Shine three-bet his button. The blinds folded before Lai made the call, creating a 3,850,000 pot.

The 8♥Q♣7♠ was subsequentially checked by both players before Lai bet 750,000 on the 2♣ turn. Shine called and "Barry" came looking on the A♣ river.

Lai down-sized to 400,000 chips and Shine made a quick call. Lai tabled Q♠J♠ for a pair of queens, but it was no longer good against the A♥K♣ of Shine, who had rivered the better pair.
