Chipleader Francis Onwuka had open-raised and Kyle Rafferty had three-bet to 18,000 chips. The action then folded back to Rafferty, who jammed all in, covering Rafferty's 73,000 chips.

Rafferty thought it over for a good while before putting in the call and putting himself at risk.

Kyle Rafferty: A10
Francis Onwuka: AJ

It was looking game over for Rafferty, but the 1068 saw him jump into the lead. No jack appeared on the 25 runout, securing his double-up and preventing Onwuka from obtaining an even bigger lead over the field.

Kehoe Capitulates

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Lander Dejonghe raised to 5,000 from the cutoff before Stephan Kehoe three-bet to 16,000 from the big blind. Dejonghe weighed his options for a while but eventually put in the call.

The Q87 flop was then spread, which saw Kehoe slow down with a check. Dejonghe responded with a bet of 15,000. Kehoe's cards quickly hit the muck as he forfeited the hand to his opponent.

On the same table, Andy Black is still cruising on Day 1a, having amassed nearly four starting stacks.

With 24,000 chips in the middle, Jamie Flynn checked from the small blind on a board of K2K4. Daniel Smyth followed suit from under the gun and the 8 river rolled off.

Flynn then fired a small bet of 6,000, which Smyth quickly called. Flynn turned over 88 for a rivered full house, after which Smyth frustratedly revealed his KJ for flopped trips.

Flynn chipped up to three starting stacks while Smyth was left with less than ten big blinds.

Chan Gets Some Value

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

In a pot that had grown to 21,000 chips, with K884 being the board, Niall McAree checked from early position to Colm Chan on the button. Chan then made a bet of 7,000 chips and McAree tossed in a call.

The A river was then checked by both players, and Chan showed KJ for two pair, kings and eights. McAree could not beat that as his cards hit the muck and the pot was shipped Chan's way,
