Cusack Off to Flying Start

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante
Jamie Cusack
Jamie Cusack

John Brosnan raised to 3,000 as first to act, after which Jamie Cusack three-bet to 3,000 from the next seat over. The action then folded to Sean Cleary in the big blind, who called. Brosnan let his cards go, and a flop of 24J was dealt.

Cusack continued for 4,000 chips, and Cleary check-called. On the 9 turn, Cleary checked again and Cusack sized up to 10,000.

Cleary spent a while in the tank before reluctantly folding his cards, seeing the pot being sent to his opponent.

Jordaan Doubles Up

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

In a pot containing 7,000 chips, three players went to a flop of 472. Leon Jordaan checked from the big blind and Cyril Doherty bet 2,000 from under the gun. Sebastian-Ionut Mihai then raised to 5,500, after which Jordaan three-bet jammed in his stack of 25,500.

Doherty pondered for a while before making the fold, but Mihai came out with a quick call to put his opponent at risk.

Leon Jordaan: 44
Sebastian-Ionut Mihai: KK

Jordaan had flopped a set and was a big favorite against the overpair of Mihai. No king came on the 29 runout, securing the double-up for Jordaan, who soared back to more than a starting stack.

Linnane Leads Without Result

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Luke Keane open-raised to 600 from the hijack before Daniel Lewis three-bet to 1,600 from the button. Justin Linnane came along from the small blind, and Keane dropped in calling chips as well.

The action was checked to Lewis on the 849 flop, after which he made a bet of 2,000. Both of his opponents called and the 6 turn was put on the table.

Linnane then promptly led out for 4,500, but both Keane and Lewis called, undeterred by the sudden aggression.

Linnane slowed down and checked the K river, and Keane checked as well. Lewis then bet 7,000 chips, and the other two players quickly let go of the hands, shipping the sizable pot to Lewis.

Boyle Sends Goberville to an Early Exit

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Martin Boyle
Martin Boyle

Arriving on the turn on 7Q45, a massive pot of roughly 25,000 chips was already in the middle when Helen Goberville got her stack of 37,000 in the middle against Martin Boyle, who played the covering stack.

Helen Goberville: AQ
Martin Boyle: 44

Goberville was already drawing dead with her top pair, and she took her leave as the meaningless 10 completed the board. On another table, Patrick Gillespe was also ousted from Day 1e.

Hannigan Folds Scary River

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Catching the action on a board of 36105, Joe Hannigan checked from the big blind to his opponent Keith Brennan in the hijack. Brennan then made a pot-sized bet of 2,000, which Hannigan called.

On the subsequent 5 river, Brennan sized up just a little bit to 2,500. Hannigan took one last look at the board before check-folding and surrendering the pot.

Fitzgerald and Nicolcioiu Split the Profit

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Patrick Fitzgerald checked from the small blind on a board of 42K8. Dragos Nicolcioiu followed suit from the big blind before Sarbjit Kular bet 1,000 into the pot of 3,000 from the button.

Both players called and the 2 river completed the board. All three players then knuckled the table, leading Fitzgerald to show K3 for two pair. Nicolcioiu tabled K6 for the same hand, and Kular mucked his cards.

The dealer placed Fitzgerald cards face-down, but Nicolcioiu was attentive enough to let her know that the eight kicker on the board played, and the pot was chopped accordingly.
