Brenes Gets Involved

Humberrrrrtttooooooo!
Humberrrrrtttooooooo!
Humberto Brenes has been very quiet compared to the normal Humberto we're used to seeing. He's also been very inactive as far as poker is concerned. We did just catch this recent hand which he got involved in.

The board was {7-Diamonds} {6-Spades} {4-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} when Brenes checked to his opponent. With the pot already over 8,000, the player fired a bet of 6,000. Brenes made the call as his wife and daughter looked on.

The river brought the {9-Clubs} and Brenes checked. His opponent fired 7,000 this time and Brenes went into the tank. After mulling over his decision for a minute or two, Brenes elected to fold his hand. He dropped the pot and dropped to 32,000 chips.

Dabus Sliding

Marcelo Dabus raised his opponent's bet of 1,200 on the flop ot {10-Clubs} {7-Spades} {6-Diamonds} to 3,800. The player made the call and the {9-Clubs} was dealt on the turn. The first player checked before Dabus fired 6,200. Again, his opponent called.

The final card on the board was the {K-Spades}. The first player checked and then Dabus quickly checked behind. The first player threw his hands up and then tabled {8-Spades} {8-Diamonds}, wanting Dabus to fire again on the river. Dabus shook his head and mucked his hand, dropping to 25,000 chips.

'Berger' Time!

Sol Bergren has just doubled through to approximately 40,000 in chips after cracking an opponents aces.

We caught up to the hand on the flop, with the board showing {K-Spades} {5-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}. Bergren had opened the pot with a big bet, his opponent moved all in and Bergren made the call for the rest of his chips holding top two pair -- {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}.

"Bring an ace!" his opponent demanded, as he tabled his own hand -- two red aces.

No ace would come, however, as the board bricked out {2-Hearts}, {6-Spades}, cementing the hand for Bergren.

Lesson 'Lerned'

Aaron Lerner has just been eliminated from the tournament by Team PokerStars Pro Alex Gomes. Change100, who's currently on site writing for PokerStarsBlog.com, was kind enough to share the hand details with us.

Lerner and Gomes got it all in after the flop came ten-high with two clubs. Gomes had Lerner covered, but was drawing to a club flush. Lerner tabled pocket tens for top set at the time the money went in.

Another club on the turn completed Gomes' flush, and with no help on the river, Lerner's day ended just before the break.

After the hand, Gomes stacked up 75,000 in chips.
