Since Jose 'Nacho' Barbero won that monster three-way pot with jacks he has been inexorably gorwing his stack. He's now on 215,000 with most of his table looking a little concerned about the huge pile of chips in front of him. Could Barbero win back-to-back titles AND be the first player to win two LAPT titles? It's still a long way off but Barbero is on a tournament hot streak at the moment so anything could happen.

Steven Thompson has been exercising his lungs again but this time in frustration. He had Pamela Espinosa all-in on a

flop whilst holding
for a full-house. The unlucky Espinosa held
for trips. The turn came
but it was now time for Espinosa to get lucky on the
to chop the pot with the same full-house.
Jose Alfaro just cried triumphantly 'I knew it!' as Salatielu Aofia tabled a busted flush draw to teh Costa Rican's two pair. Aofia had limp-called from the cut-off with
after Alfaro had raised from the button to 5,100. Aofia check-called 12,000 on the

flop before both players checked a sceond jack on the turn. Aofia slowly stacked 20,000 and slid it into the middle. 'You called with a jack?' asked Alfaro. 'You on a flush draw? You're on a flush draw.' Alfaro slammed a stack of tweny 1,000 chips into the middle (leaving himself with 2,000 behind) and showed
. Alfaro is up to 75,000.
Sung Hung Chung had been eliminated by Steven Thompson to boost him up to 150,000. There was an initial raise to 4,500 that Chung three-bet to more than 25,000 before Thompson moved all-in from the button. The initial raiser folded but Chung called all-in after some thought.

The board ran

to give the big pot to Thompson who was very happy about it. He shouted “Yes” louder and louder throughout the board being dealt and then one really loud “YES” to finish off.
Towards the end of Day 1 Sebastian Lobo waqs looking likely to finish as one of the chipleaders but bagged 42,000 instead. He has recently been moved to have position on the Day 2 chipleader Jose 'Nacho' Barbero and is using it as an opportunity to chip back up. He twice checked from the small blind to Barbero on a

board before check-raising all-in for 25,000 over the Team PokerStars Pro's 3,700 bet on the turn. Lobo is back up to 35,000 and Nacho is still sitting pretty on 190,000.
Gerardo Cavazos Valdez is distinctive for the large black Stetson he’s wearing. A man with style like that deserves to be around a bit longer and after a double-up our wishes are coming true. He called an early position raise to see a

flop where his opponent moved all-in. Valdez called quickly with
for bottom set and was in great shape against his opponent’s
. The board ran out
and Valdez is up to 40,000.

Alfredo Lay is another player at the action table mentioned by Chris Conrad (who is up to 32k). Lay opened to 4,100 with
from early position and was shoved on by the button for close to 30,000. Lay made the call dominating the
and held to win doubling him up to 65,000.
That's the end of the level and a much needed 15-minute break. Marty Mathis has just passed us and is up to 42,000 without having reached showdown once. His lucky Inca statue that he's been using as a card protector has broken for the second time int two days but his upward trend is continuing nonetheless.
Jose "Nacho" Barbero has just eliminated Jorge Robo and Michael Piper in one hand to claim the chip lead with 190,000. Barbero and Robo have been going at it all day and Piper was trying exploit this when he made a move that went wrong. Barbero opened with a raise before Robo three-bet and Piper moved all-in. Barbero and Robo both moved all-in behind him to for a big three-way showdown:
Barbero:

Robo:

Piper:

. Barbero managed to spike a jack on the turn to scoop the lot.
You know you're at an action table when players are jamming a three-way pot with pocket eights on a

board for a 100,000 pot (the player to act behind him had flopped top set, by the way). Jeet Shergill wasn't involved in that hand but he did two-outer Chris Conrad earlier in the level. Shergill is up to 100,000 and the table is heavy with chips. More action is definitely to come on this table.
