Jose "Nacho" Barbero has had a day of many ups with a few little blips in there too. He was as high as 215,000 at one point but then began to slip. He’s on the up again now and after he knocked out a short stack he’s up to 180,000. He’s opening a lot of pots as he normally does and this time it was a raise to 5,600 from UTG. A short stack then moved all-in from the SB and Barbero made the call.
Barbero tabled
to his opponent’s
. Both hit a pair on the

flop but Barbero took the lead on the
turn and stayed there through the
river.
And cynics out there said there wasn't value in poker tournaments anymore. Try telling that to Leandro Csome. We arrived at a critical point in the pot where Csome, who had raised from middle position, was facing a bet of 18,000 from the button on a

flop. The Argentinian repopped it to 38,000 committing half of his opponent's stack who just flat called. Csome moved in on the
turn and was quickly called. Csome showed
for an overpair and the nut flush draw and found he was facing a flush, a set, two pair, top pair top kicker, a pair of fours. Yes, he was in a 160,000 pot against
. He dodged the final two fours, making the nuts for good measure with
, to take his stack up to 230,000.
Valerio Valera started today in the top ten of chips counts but his stack has been sliding most of the day. That has now changed with a double-up to 70,000. There an early position raise before Valera moved all-in for 33,000 from mid-position. Joseph Leblanc then moved all-in to for 38,500 from the BB. The original raiser folded to leave it heads-up and at showdown:
Valera:

Leblanc:

The board ran

. Valera hit a queen and that was good for the pot. Leblanc left with a bowl of rice now.
Felipe Borges found aces in a very nice spot to more than double-up to 110,000. The big stack of Julio de la Rosa raised to 8,000 before Ricardo Serrano Arenas three-bet to 25,000 from the next seat. Borges was one more seat along and quickly moved all-in for 52,300. De la Rosa folded but Arenas called after some thought. He must’ve known his
was crushed but the price was too good. Borges tabled his
and the board ran

.
Karlo Lopez open-raised from the hijack to 6,600 and was three-bet by Francois Frejdles in the big blind to 18,000. The Team PokerStars Online player looked at his 50,000 stack and passed. Frejdles is up to 150,000.
'That's one way to beat me in a hand,' said Jacob Baumgartner, 'Shove 70,000 on the turn.' Baumgartner didn't look happy to release on the

flop but eventually did. It took a small chunk from his 270,000 stack - now 240,000 - but is unlikley to slow him down much.

Marty Mathis chip stack just took a dent as did his cool composure after David Figueroa spiked a set on the river against his two pair. Mathis had opened for 4,300 from the hijack with
and was flat called by Figueroa on the button with
. Both players checked the

flop before Mathis bet his two-pair for 7,800 on the
turn. Figueroa called. The
on the river was the best card for Mathis who quickly check-called 22,000. Mathis was not happy. The break can't come soon enough for him. And here it is.
Jacob Baumgartner has position on Jose Barbero and is getting involved in pots with him even when he hasn't. Barbero raised from the cut-off and was called by Baumgartner in the small blind and also by the big blind. Barbero bet 4,300 into the

flop and was called by Baumgartner who also check-called 10,300 on the
turn. There was no betting on the
river. Baumgartner showed
for top pair and scooped the pot. Barbero is down to 140,000 and Baumgartner up to near 270,000.
