Smoke 'em if you got 'em. We'll be back in 15 minutes for the last two levels of Day 1.
As we head into the last break of the night (in about two minutes) the first stacks have crossed the six-figure mark. Leading the way is Argentina's Pablo Freschi, with 118,000. He's followed by Faiber Rodriguez.
As we wait for the leaders to further separate themselves from the field before the end of the day, I've been looking at the little mini-stories in the room. The four members of PokerStars Team Online are one of those mini-stories; each one has had mixed fortunes throughout the day.
Fredy Torres was looing strong all day but clearly ran into some post-dinner trouble. He moved his last 6,500 in a few minutes ago under the gun with and was taken on by a player with . Torres was shaking hands by the turn of a board and out the door a few moments later.
Jorge Arias has been trying to grind it out, but has never seemed to move much above 30,000 in chips. As we come closer to the end of Level 8, he's short-stacked with 18,000.
Karlo Lopez and Jorge Limon are both above par, at 68,000 and 53,000 respectively. Each has had a comfortable stack throughout the day and look to be ready to cruise through the last two levels of the night.
In the hour and twenty minutes since 237 players came back from dinner, 60 players have busted. Recent inductees into the ranks of the busto include Team PokerStars Pro Christian de Leon, whose seat at Humberto Brenes' table is now occupied by a different player.

Nichole Pickering caught up with Jose "Nacho" Barbero for a quick chat on the second break of the day... right before he busted.
Look, it's early. Super early. But in a week that saw Team PokerStars Pros Vanessa Selbst (Main Event) and Jason Mercier (Bounty Shotout) repeat as champions of NAPT Mohegan Sun, we feel like anything can happen. And right now each of the three members of family Brenes in today's field -- Humberto Brenes, Alex Brenes and Roberto Brenes -- has more than double the average stack. Brothers Humberto (67,000) and Alex (61,000) are being bested by Humberto's son Roberto (85,000).
Again, it's early. But how weird and wild would it be to see more than one Brenes make it to Day 4? This week, maybe not so weird.
