Wheel in the Sky Keeps on Turning

Carlos Leoncio Mironiuk opened the action by moving all in for about 255,000. It folded around to Ivan Luca in the big blind who instantly announced call, flipping up {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}. Luca was well ahead of Mironiuk's {A-Spades}{8-Spades}.

Mironiuk picked up a flush draw on the {3-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{10-Spades} flop. The {5-Clubs} on fourth street was of no help to Mironiuk, but the {2-Clubs} on the river certainly was. Mironiuk was able to double through with the wheel and is now sitting on about 530,000.

Last Break

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

The final 13 players are on the last fifteen minute break of the evening. After the break we will be playing down to the final 8 players or two more full levels, whichever comes first.

Juan Garcia Eliminated in 15th Place ($7,630); Alberto Cerutti Eliminated in 14th Place ($7,630)

Juan Garcia - 15th Place

After being decimated by Francisco Neto in a previous hand, Day 1 chip leader Juan Garcia moved all in for his last 35,000. The button folded and Pablo Melogno moved all in over top from the small blind. Alberto Cerutti sat in the big blind, pondering a call. Eventually, Cerutti called off his last 150,000 and suddenly two tournament lives were on the line.

Garcia: {10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Cerutti: {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Melogno: {Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

The board fell {3-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and the pair of queens of Melogno sent both players home. Both Garcia and Cerutti will earn $7,630 in tournament winnings.

Ladies and Gentlemen, We Have a New Chip Leader

Alberto Cerutti raised to 27,000 from the hijack only to find Francisco Neto three-bet to 60,000 on the button. The small blind folded his hand and Juan Garcia peered at his cards, waited a moment, a pushed out a four-bet to 120,000. Cerutti folded and Neto replied to Garcia by making a five-bet, this time making 220,000 the magic number.

Garcia announced a six bet all in and Neto went into the tank for over two minutes before announcing a call.

Garcia: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}
Neto: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}

Neto was far behind and was searching for a miracle card after the {J-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop. Ask for a miracle and you shall received, replied the deck as the {Q-Hearts} dropped on the turn. A stunned Garcia stared at the board as he watched his tournament life crumble around him. The {2-Spades} came on the river and Neto was awarded the largest pot of the tournament. Not only is Neto the first player over a million, but he's closer to two million chips than one million. Garcia, however, was left absolutely devastated with only 46,000.

Antonio Guedes Eliminated in 16th Place ($7,020)

Thiago Camilo raised to 28,000 and was called by Carlos Leoncio Mironiuk from the cutoff. Antonio Guedes moved his entire stack of 90,000 into the middle from the big blind causing Camilo to throw away his cards. Mironiuk called and the hands were tabled:

Mironiuk: {k-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Guedes: {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}

Mironuik had a field day when he flopped two pair. The {K-Hearts}{5-Spades}{Q-Hearts} flop was followed by a {4-Diamonds} turn and Guedes was in need of one of the four remaining sixes to double up. The {7-Diamonds} fell on fifth street, however, and Guedes was sent to collect $7,020 in prize money.
