Day 1b Completed
Day 1B of the 2019 Lex Live Namur Main Event is in the books. Soufiane Gherbi ended the day as chip leader bagging 514,000. That makes Gherbi not only Day 1B chip leader but also the overall chip leader of the event so far. Other big stacks that made it through to Day 2 include Randee Clybouw (420,000), Damase Verlinde (365,000), and Marc Hansens (326,000). Morten 'Zeeth' Ottosen also made it through to Day 2 after busting right before the end of Day 1A.
A total of 275 players entered Day 1B and 30 players entered Day 1B turbo. The total number of entrants in the €225 Main Event in Namur, Belgium is already at 485. The guarantee of the event stands at €100,000 and will easily be broken tomorrow on Day 1C and Day 1C turbo. A lot of people from Lex Veldhuis' community arrived today and entered the tournament.
Tjenno 'TjennoE' Eskes (79,500), Morten 'Zeeth' Ottosen (58,500), Markus 'l4zy_pigeon' Borel (42,000), and Ger 'eyesolater' Kamerling (25,500) all made Day 2 of the tournament. 'Zeeth' was very happy to finally have made Day 2 after he busted out of the tournament on Day 1A right before they started bagging. ''I'm really happy I made Day 2 and I'm especially happy that I have a bigger stack than 'Croaks' and about three times as much as Lex!''
Others were less fortunate and didn't make Day 2. Simon 'mzzlaar' Steenstra was playing around the starting stack of 50,000 for the entire day but he busted out in a coin flip after late registration had closed already. Steenstra told PokerNews he will definitely play Day 1C of the Main Event in the hopes of making Day 2 of an already very successful Main Event.
The atmosphere in the casino is amazing and the casual vibe of the event allows for a lot of freedom. Veldhuis, Benjamin Spragg and a lot of community members started a €25 sit and go before the start of Day 1B. Community member 'Zjoeri' won the event for €162.
Day 1C will start at 6 p.m. local time and there will be a turbo 1C at 10 p.m. local time. PokerNews will be on site to report the tournament from start to finish.

Mohamed Ammar raised to 7,000 from the button but big blind Jonathan Ram had a different plan. He three-bet to 23,000 and the action was back on Ammar. The Frenchman called and they went heads-up to the flop.
The flop fell and Ram continued with a bet of 16,000. It didn't take too long for Ammar to find a call and the turn was dealt. Ram kept firing as he slid 38,000 to the middle of the table. Ammar went into the tank and finally let go of his cards after several minutes.

Samy Barka opened from early position to 5,500 and he was called by Mickael Garcia. Enrico Teresi moved his last 15,000 to the middle from middle position. The action folded to small blind Philippe Guilliaume who moved all in as well for 107,000. Barka called after a while and Garcia got out of the way.

Barka had to fade a lot of outs when the flop was dealt. The turn was the and the river was the which meant the pocket tens of Barka ended up as the winning hand.
Barka wins the big pot and ends with a big stack of 400,000.
