Break

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

The remaining players were just sent on their 75-minute dinner break. The tournament will continue on it's way to the money with only thirty more eliminations needed before they all secured the min-cash of €492. The winner will walk away with €37,105 but that will happen tomorrow.

LEX LIVE: The FU Friday Flip

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Lex Veldhuis

While it’s serious business over in the €225 Main Event, last night at Lex Live was all about fun.
The €60 FU Friday Flip was a side event most members of Lex Veldhuis’s Twitch community had circled from the off, and 56 of them (including this humble PokerStars Blog writer) took part. Here’s how it worked:

Players started with 15,000 chips, blinds at 100/100, and a ten-minute clock. The hyper-turbo structure then saw the clock paused at the end of each level, and all players put five big blinds in the middle. The dealer deals one card face up and one card face down to each player at each table and then lays down a flop. At this point, all players can reveal their hidden cards, and the turn and river are dealt. Whoever has the best hand at the end scoops a huge pot, and play resumes as normal into the next level.

The idea is based on Veldhuis’s Friday home games that he holds on his Twitch streams. Each Friday he would have an all-in flip out for his community members, but the tweak to the live version means there’s actually some play in it.

Even More Players Eliminated

Timo van Gelder Busts After Rollercoaster

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Timo van Gelder started the day with 64,000 and he ran that up to a very comfortable 300,000. Unfortunately for the Dutchman, it all got away from him a bit later. He first lost a big pot with ace-king against ace-eight when it got to the middle on an ace-high flop. The turn was an eight though and Van Gelder lost a big chunk of his stack.

He later lost the remainder of his stack with pocket tens against pocket aces.

Alessandro Izzi Gets a Shove Through

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Daniel Dinulescu had 62,000 in the middle in front of him. He had about 560,000 behind when he saw Alessandro Izzi raise all-in. The all-in bet was 225,000 and the action was back on Dinulescu. He thought about it for a while and he took his time.

He decided after a while that he was going to fold and he opened up {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. Izzi didn't show his cards as he won the pot.

Almost Time to Eat

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

The players have one more 45-minute level to go until they can rest up for the second half of the day. There will follow a 75-minute dinner break after the next level before they will play five more levels to end the day. About 50 more players need to bust out for the tournament to reach the money.

Nadia Wanzi Can Register Side Events

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Nadia Wanzi was very short after starting the day with a big stack. She just lost her last 39,000 after she moved all in with {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and she was called by Damien Hupé in the big blind. He was playing {a-Spades}{2-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {4-Spades}{j-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Wanzi was sent to the rail. She can, however, register for the €110 progressive bounty tournament or the €170 PLO tournament.

'Zeeth' Chops it Up

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Morten 'Zeeth' Ottosen
Morten 'Zeeth' Ottosen

Morten 'Zeeth' Ottosen raised to 18,000 from late position and the player in the big blind moved all in for 58,000. Ottosen called to put Jean-Pierre Righetti at risk of elimination.

Ottosen had his opponent dominated with {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} while Righetti had {q-Spades}{10-Clubs}. The board, however, ran out with {9-Hearts}{5-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and they chopped it up.
