Schemion Gets Tricky on the River

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante
Ole Schemion
Ole Schemion

On the turn of an {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{9-Hearts} board, Ole Schemion fired out a bet of 6,900 and was called by his opponent. The river was the {8-Hearts}, Schmeion thought briefly and checked but his opponent checked behind.

Schemion tabled {K-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for the backdoor nut flush while his opponent flashed {A-Spades}{9-Spades} for turned two pair that was pipped on the river.

Level: 8

Blinds: 300/600

Ante: 75

Overcall No Good

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

On the river of a {6-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}{A-Clubs} board, Johan van Til checked, one player bet 6,400 and another called. van Til tanked for about two minutes before also calling.

The first two players showed {A-Spades}{J-Spades} and {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} respectively and van Til flashed {7-Spades}{6-Spades} before sending it into the muck. The call cost van Til much of his stack and he was knocked out soon after.

Refos and Rettenmaier Bust

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

The entire action escaped us, but Raoul Refos was sent to the rail with {8-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} versus {A-Clubs} {3-Clubs} on a board of {5-Spades} {4-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {10-Spades}.

Marvin Rettenmaier was sent to the rail as well. He four-bet shoved into an open raise to 1,200 and the three-bet of Dietrich fast in the small blind for 3,600. Rettenmaier only had 12,000 and change left in the big blind, his flip with {J-Clubs} {J-Spades} versus the {A-Hearts} {K-Spades} of Fast didn't go as planned on a board of {Q-Spades} {7-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {A-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}.

Reload!

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Davidi Kitai and Pieter de Korver are on their second bullets, we think Govert Metaal is on his third.

Sammartino Pays off Full House

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

With the board reading {2-Clubs} {3-Spades} {3-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {7-Diamonds}, an opponent bet 10,000 into Dario Sammartino in the tournament area downstairs. The Italian was left in the think tank for quite some time before making the call and then let out a "oh wow" when he was shown {Q-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} for a full house. The Italian slips below starting stack.

Downstairs Again

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Steve O'Dwyer and [Removed:17] got reseated in the secondary tournament area downstairs after re-entering the tournament and Pieter de Korver will do so shortly.

Korver Carved

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Game over for Dutchman Pieter de Korver, he got all his chips in with {A-Spades}{A-Hearts} against {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} preflop but the board ran out {8-Spades}{4-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{10-Clubs} to make his opponent a full house.

Sorel Mizzi looks to have also been knocked out.

Re-Entries

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

All these players are re-entering for the first time except for Bryn Kenney who we believe is on his first bullet and Steve O'Dwyer who is on his third.

Daniel Rudd is trying again after running queens into aces all in preflop.

Meiri Busts O'Dwyer

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

On the feature table the cards were already rushed away but the screens still showed what had happened. Aviv Meiri check-called the flop for an unknown amount and then bet the turn of a {10-Spades} {2-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {6-Spades} {8-Clubs} board for 8,800 into a pot of 8,100. Steve O'Dwyer made the call and called all in after the river with {A-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}, though Meiri had that beat with {A-Diamonds} {2-Spades}. This was the second buller for O'Dwyer, who can still re-enter again until the start of Day 2.
