Noah Boeken Hits the Rail

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante
Noah Boeken
Noah Boeken

We caught the tail end of a hand involving former MCOP champion Noah Boeken. Again, Rens Feenstra and Pim Kuipers offered some more details of what the lead up to that point.

A player opened in early position and the small blind and Noah Boeken in the big blind both called. The blinds checked to the initial raiser on {Q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades} and a continuation bet followed. The small blind gave up but Boeken shoved for about 13,000. The initial raiser called.

Noah Boeken: {7-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Initial raiser: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

The {6-Diamonds} on the turn and {K-Clubs} on the river were of no help to Boeken and he exited. Boeken busted out earlier today already, so he won't be able to enter Day 1b again. If he so wants, he can enter Day 1c which started 15 minutes ago and plays in a turbo format. Or, if he's not into playing turbo, he can still reenter tomorrow before the start of Day 2.

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Thierry van den Berg opened under the gun for 1,000 and saw a player behind him 3-bet to 3,400. One cold-caller followed and Van den Berg decided to call as well.

The flop came {Q-}{J-}{8-} and Van den Berg checked. Another check and a bet of 6,000 followed. Van den Berg pushed all in and was called by {Q-}{10-}.

Blanks on the turn and river resulted in a double up for Van den Berg.

Kuipers Busts Yachou

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Farid Yachou
Farid Yachou

Farid Yachou's seat was empty, so we asked his former neighbor Rens Feenstra what had happened. Feenstra pointed us to Pim Kuipers since he was the one responsible.

Kuipers told us that the player under the gun opened for 1,100 and Kuipers made it 3,200 from middle position. In the hijack, Yachou cold 4-bet to 8,700. The original raiser folded and Kuipers shoved all in. Yachou called all in for 28,000 and the cards went on their backs.

Pim Kuipers: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}
Farid Yachou: {A-}{Q-}

The flop came king-high with a spade and spades on the turn and river even improved Kuipers to a flush. WPT Amsterdam and WPT Tournament of champions winner Yachou ousted, Kuipers up to almost 70,000.

Boyaciyan Forces Tounnouti to Make a Huge Fold

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
David Boyaciyan
David Boyaciyan

[Removed:17] opened the action with a raise and David Boyaciyan (cutoff) and Mourad Tounnouti (small blind) both called.

The flop came {5-Spades}{4-Spades}{10-Spades} and Tounnouti and Yan checked. Boyaciyan bet two-thirds of the pot and just Tounnouti called, Yan folded.

Both players checked the {4-Clubs} on the turn and the {A-Diamonds} completed the board. Tounnouti bet out 6,000 and Boyaciyan raised to 15,000.

Tounnouti went deep into the tank and eventually open folded his {A-Spades}{8-Spades} for the flopped flush. Boyaciyan quietly mucked. The former MCOP champion (and one-time runner-up) and 2-time EPT Prague finalist, now sits on 40,000 in chips.

Kuhlman Gone

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Rene Kuhlman was seen standing on the rail, railing his good friend Floris van der Ven. Kuhlman told us straight up he didn't have a good idea of what was right and wrong in the spot he was going to describe. Kuhlman is one of the best online cash game players in the world, but tournaments are a different beast.

A player in middle position opened for 1,000 and the hijack 3-bet to 2,750. Seated in the small blind, Kuhlman called holding {J-}{J-}. The big blind tanked for a bit and 4-bet to 10,000 which got rid of the original raiser and player that had reraised.

With the action now on Kuhlman, he shoved for 30,000. His opponent called with {Q-}{Q-} and no jacks or other help appeared.

"This really is a win win," Kuhlman said with a smile, "Now I can just play online tomorrow."

Ruys Loses Set Over Set

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Joris Ruys
Joris Ruys

The player under the gun opened for 1,000 and Joris Ruys, seated in middle position, 3-bet to 3,100. Ruys' neighbor cold 4-bet to 7,200 with 19,600 behind and Ruys was the only caller.

Ruys checked on {10-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{K-Spades} and his opponent shoved all in. Ruys instantly called but soon found out he was in need of some help.

Joris Ruys: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Opponent: {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}

The {4-Clubs} on the turn wasn't the card Ruys was looking for and neither was the {A-Spades} on the river.

Still, Ruys has 90,000 in front of him, 3 times what he started the day with.

Van den Berg Loses Some

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Thierry van den Berg just told us about a hand he lost to Ben Heath.

After a raise and 2 calls, Thierry van den Berg over called in position. Small blind Ben Heath wanted to squeeze to 4,200 but didn't make one motion removing his small blind and putting in his raise, so it was ruled a call.

According to Van den Berg, he was the only one calling Heath's 2,800 bet on {X-}{7-Spades}{9-Spades}. The {Q-Spades} on the turn was checked by both and the {6-Spades} rolled off on the river. Heath bet 13,000 and Van den Berg called.

Heath had {A-Spades}{Q-} for the nut flush, and won the pot.
