Clarke, Tulin Reunite as Tantillo, Vezhnekov Chop

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Patrick Clarke and Nikolai Tulin tangled in a massive pot during the last level of Day 1c last night, when Clarke doubled up set over set. By a strange coincidence, they find themselves seated next to each other today on Table #51.

But it would be Fausto Tantillo and Artem Vezhnekov who got involved in a big pot today. With around 60,000 in the middle on a board of {5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, Tantillo, on the button, slammed a tower of chips in the middle to put Vezhnekov all in.

Vezhnekov tanked for about a minute before announcing a call, showing {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for straight and flush draws. Tantillo turned over {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and was also on two big draws.

The {10-Spades} on the river missed both of them and ensured they would chop the pot.

Volkmann Takes a Seat, Gets Called by Ace-High

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Brazilian high roller regular Bruno Volkmann was among the players to take advantage of late registration here on Day 2, but just saw part of his stack vanish in a hand against Andrew Dooley.

Volkmann and Dooley checked the {6-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop before Volkmann bet 6,000 from the hijack on the {5-Hearts} turn. Dooley, in the big blind, called as they saw the {j-Clubs} fall on the river.

Dooley again checked and Volkmann fired out 35,000. Dooley looked back at his cards before throwing in the chips to call. Volkmann instantly mucked his hand and Dooley showed {a-Clubs}{7-Spades} for ace-high to take the pot.

Rebei Doesn't Have to Rebuy Yet

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Karim Rebei
Karim Rebei

A player in middle position raised to 6,000 and was called by Karim Rebei in the cutoff and Sebastian Schulze in the big blind.

"My chips are like a cheeseburger. If you like it, come and get it," Rebei said as the flop came {6-Spades}{2-Hearts}{q-Hearts}. Action checked to Rebei, who bet 15,000 and only Schulze called.

Both players checked the {5-Diamonds} turn before the {8-Hearts} fell on the river.

"How much you've got," Schulze asked.

"Enough to make you fold," Rebei replied as Schulze bet 27,000.

Rebei took casino chips out of his pocket and began counting out the $5,300 he would need to rebuy before shoving all in for 35,000. Schulze quickly called.

"You got a flush," Rebei asked, but Schulze turned over {q-Spades}{10-Spades} for a pair of queens.

"I've got a flush," Rebei continued, showing {j-Hearts}{4-Hearts} as he doubled up.

Phillip Nagy
Phillip Nagy

Phillip Nagy three-bet to 12,500 from the hijack before Nicolas Chouity four-bet to 31,000 under the gun. Nagy tanked for about a minute before sticking in enough chips to put Chouity all in, and Chouity snap-called for around 90,000.

Nicolas Chouity: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Phillip Nagy: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out {8-Spades}{6-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and Nagy's pocket tens stayed in front. Chouity angrily tossed his cards across the table before making a hasty exit from the tournament area.
