Rebei Clocks Himself

Level 11 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Karim Rebei and Anton Markov built a pot of more than 100,000 on a board of {2-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} when Rebei bet 60,000 from the button. Markov, from early position, then shoved all in.

"I don't like it," Rebei said as he tanked with about 40,000 remaining. "Ace-king can't win. Did you really call ace-queen 26,000 preflop?"

Rebei eventually called the clock on himself. The countdown reached zero and Rebei pretended to put his chips in but eventually mucked.

"Show the queens," a tablemate said, but Markov returned his cards face down.

"He had queens, probably. Or ace-queen," Rebei added.

Jaka called and both players checked the {j-Spades} turn. The river came the {j-Diamonds} and Jaka slowly tapped the felt once again.

The button tanked for about two minutes before betting out 38,000. Jaka snap-called and his opponent instantly mucked, giving Jaka the pot without a showdown.
