Enselme Picks Off Maugini's River Bluff After Three-Minute Tank

Level 28 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Arnaud Enselme
Arnaud Enselme

Vittorio Maugini opened from under the gun to 200,000 and Arnaud Enselme defended his big blind.

The flop came {3-Hearts}{9-Spades}{a-Diamonds} and Maugini continued for 130,000. Enselme called.

The turn brought the {8-Clubs} and both players checked it down.

On the {9-Diamonds} river, Enselme checked over to Maugini, who bet 425,000. Enselme would go deep into the tank, requiring six of his time bank chips before slamming his chips down.

Maugini could only produce {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades} while Enselme turned over {a-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for the win and a huge swing in his direction.

Level 28 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Furkan Beg
Furkan Beg

Dmitry Koleznev limped from the hijack before Furkan Beg moved all in from the small blind for around 350,000. Koleznev called when action folded to him.

Furkan Beg: {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Dmitry Koleznev: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Beg was happy to be in front with his ace high and the flop was favourable as it came {10-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. However he was frustrated when the turn came the {k-Diamonds} putting Koleznev in the lead. The river was the {q-Hearts} which ensured Beg's elimination in seventh for $7,500.

Beg Triples Up

Level 27 : 50,000/75,000, 75,000 ante
Furkan Beg
Furkan Beg

Furkan Beg shoved his final 165,000 from the cutoff, which represented a little over two big blinds. Vittorio Maugini raised the minimum from the button and the blinds folded.

Furkan Beg: {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Vittorio Maugini: {j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

Beg was in prime position to stick around and did as the board ran out {3-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs}.

With 200,000 coming from the blinds and antes, Beg more than tripled his stack and is now at 530,000.

With the blinds going up to 50,000/100,000/100,000 and the average stack at just over 14 big blinds, it's truly anybody's title to win.

Konstantinos Nanos
Konstantinos Nanos

Vittorio Maugini limped 75,000 from under the gun before Konstantinos Nanos moved all in from early position for 260,000. Action folded around to Arnaud Enselme who called in the small blind. Maugini also called.

The flop came {10-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Enselme led out for 300,000. Maugini quickly folded.

Konstantinos Nanos: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Arnaud Enselme: {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Nanos was facing elimination as Enselme had flopped top pair. The turn and the river didn't help Nanos as it came {5-Diamonds} and the {3-Hearts} to eliminate him from the tournament in eight place for $6,250.

Butuc On a Heater, Doubles Up with Pocket Kings vs. Pocket Jacks

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/75,000, 75,000 ante
Gheorghe Butuc
Gheorghe Butuc

Vittorio Maugini called from early position and Ercan Hasan raised to 200,000 from the cutoff. After using a time bank card, Gheorghe Butuc shoved for 615,000 from the big blind. Following a fold from Maugini and confirmation of the amount of Butuc's shove, Hasan made the call.

Gheorghe Butuc: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Ercan Hasan: {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

Much to Hasan's dismay, Butuc was crushing him with pocket kings against his pocket jacks.

Hasan wouldn't improve on the {q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} runout and Hasan has gone from 245,000 chips to 1,430,000 chips in just a couple of minutes.

O'Brien Doubles Up, Butuc Short

Level 26 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
James O'Brien
James O'Brien

Arnaud Enselme opened to 125,000 from under the gun and James O'Brien shoved his last 515,000 from the cutoff. Gheorghe Butuc, in the big blind, used a time bank chip before shoving for 790,000. Enselme folded and told Butuc: "You saved me!"

James O'Brien: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Gheorghe Butuc: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

"Woooo! I had sixes!" Enselme exclaimed as the hands were revealed.

With the rest of the table hoping for O'Brien's demise and a $1,250 ladder, the flop came {3-Spades}{8-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and the Irishman stayed ahead.

The {j-Hearts} turn gave Butuc a straight draw but the {3-Hearts} completed the board, giving O'Brien the double up and Butuc assumed the role of short stack at the table.

Enselme Gets River Value with Pocket Aces

Level 26 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Arnaud Enselme
Arnaud Enselme

Arnaud Enselme opened from the cutoff to 125,000 and Vittorio Maugini called from the small blind.

The flop came {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} and both players were more than happy to tap the table.

The {q-Diamonds} turn was still not enough to get any action from either player but on the {2-Spades} river, Maugini put in a bet of 125,000 and Enselme instantly flicked in a chip.

Maugini showed {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} but it was no good as the Frenchman had {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} and took his stack to over two-and-a-half million.

Vladislav Fedoseev Eliminated in 9th Place ($5,000)

Level 26 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Vladislav Fedoseev
Vladislav Fedoseev

Vittorio Maugini raised to 120,000 from the hijack before Day 1a chip leader Vladislav Fedoseev moved all in from the small blind for 680,000.

Maugini asked for a count before he made the call.

Vladislav Fedoseev: {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Vittorio Maugini: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}

Fedoseev didn't look happy to be called and was behind Maugini's ace-jack. The flop had Fedoseev drawing thin as it came {a-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. The turn ensured the Russians elimination as it came the {4-Hearts} which left Fedoseev drawing dead. The river was the {j-Diamonds} which sent Fedoseev to the payout desk as he was eliminated in 9th place for $5,000.

Celine Zimmermann Eliminated in 10th Place ($3,750)

Level 25 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Celine Zimmerman
Celine Zimmerman

Dmitry Koleznev called from the cutoff as did James O'Brien from the button and Furkan Beg in the small blind. Celine Zimmermann, who only had 5,000 chips behind, checked her option.

The flop came {5-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and Koleznev asked if he could only bet 5,000 before being informed he had to bet a minimum of 50,000. He made it 50,000 and both O'Brien and Beg called while Zimmermann flicked in her final blue chip.

Players checked down the {10-Spades} turn and the {10-Diamonds} river. Zimmermann turned over {k-Spades}{8-Hearts} and Koleznev had the best hand, showing {j-Clubs}{7-Spades} to eliminate the Russian.

"I'm Sorry, Straight Flush." Beg Runs Bluff into Koleznev's Monster

Level 24 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Dmitry Koleznev
Dmitry Koleznev

Dmitry Koleznev opened to 100,000 from the button and Furkan Beg defended his big blind.

Both players checked the {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop but Beg came firing for 100,000 on the {6-Clubs} turn. Koleznev called.

On the {8-Clubs} river, Beg jammed over the top of Koleznev. Koleznev replied: "I'm sorry, straight flush" as he put his chips in and turned over {a-Hearts}{7-Clubs}.

Beg attempted to muck but the dealer turned over his {j-Hearts}{9-Spades}, telling Koleznev: "That's the only card you call me with!"

After the dealer counted out Koleznev's chips, the damage to Beg was an additional 530,000 chips.
