Maugini Gets Paid After Slow-Playing Full House

Level 24 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Vittorio Maugini
Vittorio Maugini

Celine Zimmermann opened from the cutoff for 100,000 and Vittorio Maugini tried to three-bet to 250,000 but the dealer ruled that the way he put his chips in only allowed him to three-bet to 200,000. Zimmermann made the call.

The players checked the {4-Spades}{q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop as well as the {6-Clubs} turn.

On the {4-Clubs} river, Maugini put in a bet of 175,000 and Zimmermann confidently snap-called and turned over {a-Spades}{5-Hearts}.

However, Zimmermann's call was incorrect as she ran into the Italian's flopped full house with {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}, which left her on under 10 big blinds.

Mehdi Chaoui Eliminated in 12th Place ($3,000)

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Mehdi Chaoui
Mehdi Chaoui

Vladislav Fedoseev opened to 65,000 from the cutoff and Mehdi Chaoui, who only had a single T-5000 chip remaining after committing 15,000 to the small blind, sent everyone to take a break as he exhausted all but one of his time bank chips hoping to ladder up. After several minutes and without an elimination at the other table, he called without looking at his cards. Arnaud Enselme also called.

Fedoseev and Enselme checked it down as the board ran out {5-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. Enselme said "six-high" as he showed {6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. Chaoui showed the {a-Diamonds} and Fedoseev flipped over the {a-Hearts}. Chaoui had kicker trouble as he could only produce the {3-Spades}. Fedoseev had the {5-Clubs} for a pair of fives and Chaoui was eliminated in 12th place.

Ozcan Barut Eliminated in 13th Place ($3,000)

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Ozcan Barut
Ozcan Barut

Arnaud Enselme raised to 60,000 from the cutoff before Ozcan Barut three bet to 100,000. Action folded back to Enselme who moved all in for 250,000 effective. Barut called.

Ozcan Barut: {q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Arnaud Enselme: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Barut was way behind as he was completely dominated by Enselme's pocket queens. The flop came {k-Spades}{j-Spades}{10-Spades} which gave Barut a straight but Enselme had the queen of spades giving him a flush draw. The turn came the {8-Spades} which gave Enselme the flush which sent Barut eliminated in 13th place. The river was the {9-Spades} which was overkill for Enselme who had a straight flush.

Fedoseev moved all in for less and Nanos folded.

Vladislav Fedoseev: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Gabriel Akiki: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

Shortly after Arnaud Enselme raised to 55,000 from the button before Akiki moved all in from the small blind for 185,000. Enselme called.

Dmitry Koleznev
Dmitry Koleznev

Dmitry Koleznev opened to 40,000 from the hijack and James O'Brien called from the hijack. Furkan Beg three-bet to 160,000 from the button and action folded back around. Koleznev would use three time-bank cards before moving all in for 285,000 total. O'Brien took about 10 seconds before folding while Beg made the call.

Dmitry Koleznev: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Furkan Beg: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Beg was anything but happy as Koleznev turned over pocket kings against his suited ace.

The board ran out {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{5-Hearts}{q-Spades}{7-Clubs} and Koleznev would double up to 660,000 while Beg was left with 16 big blinds.

Mohamad El-Sayed Eliminated in 16th Place ($2,000)

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Mohamad El-Sayed
Mohamad El-Sayed

Vittorio Maugini opened to 40,000 from early position and Mohamad El-Sayed would use a time bank card before raising to 90,000, leaving 30,000 behind. Maugini made the call.

On the {8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop, Maugini put El-Sayed all in. On the cusp of a ladder, El-Sayed looked over to the other table, where there was no risk of a bustout. He then made the call.

Mohamad El-Sayed: {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Vittorio Maugini: {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

El-Sayed's ace-high was ahead on the flop and stayed ahead on the {4-Clubs}, where he also picked up a straight draw.

However, the river was the {k-Spades}, giving the Italian a pair of kings and eliminating El-Sayed in 16th place.

O'Brien Stuns Akiki in 500,000-Chip Pot

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
James O'Brien
James O'Brien

James O'Brien opened to 40,000 from early position and Gabriel Akiki, in the big blind, said "I should be three-betting this hand but, against you, I will just call."

The flop came {q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and Akiki lead out for 50,000. "See? I have something good!" O'Brien made the call.

The turn brought the {6-Diamonds} and Akiki fired a second barrel, this time for 75,000. O'Brien made the call once more.

On the {6-Spades} river, which put a third six on the board, Akiki fired again for 75,000. O'Brien would need his full 30 seconds before making the call.

Akiki confidently slammed down {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} but was absolutely stunned as the Irishman produced {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} for the better full house.

"How do you have kings? I have top boat!"

"I thought you were milking me!"

Akiki then spent the next couple of minutes discussing the result of the hand with the people around him as the tournament went into break.

Arnaud Enselme
Arnaud Enselme

Murat Muret Taysi moved all in for 390,000 from the button and was called by Arnaud Enselme in the big blind for less.

Arnaud Enselme: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Murat Muret Taysi: {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}

It was a flip for Enselme's tournament life. Enselme picked up extra outs on the {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{8-Spades} flop for a double gutshot. The turn was a brick when it came the {10-Diamonds}. However the {j-Diamonds} came on the river which gave Enselme the double up and left Taysi with less than two big blinds going into the break.
