Ates On The Brink

Level 15 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Orhan Ates
Orhan Ates

Alexander Lakhov moved all in from the hijack for 117,500 and was called by Orhan Ates on the button.

Alexander Lakhov: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}
Orhan Ates: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

It was a disaster for Ates as Lakhov hit an ace in the window on the {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop. There was no help on the further streets as the board completed with the {5-Clubs}{q-Hearts} to give Lakhov aces and queens and moved them to an average stack whilst Ates is left with crumbs.

Ricci Climbing

Level 15 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

After an early position open, the cutoff of Dmitriy Kopyl called the 10,000 open. When action folded around to Andrea Ricci in the small blind, who made it 45,000. The original raiser folded and Kopyl made the call.

To a flop of {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{9-Spades} and Ricci down bet to just 10,000. Kopyl called to take them to the turn.

The {5-Spades} drew the 35,000 lead from Ricci and this time Kopyl quickly mucked his holding, giving the Italian the sizeable pot.
