The $5,300 MPP Main Event picks up again tomorrow, May 08 with Day 1b starting at noon local time. Stay tuned for more coverage as PokerNews brings you all the action from the remainder of the festival along the shores of the Mediterranean in North Cyprus.
88 players out of 349 entrants reached the end of Day 1a and qualified for Day 2.

Temur Abbosov raised 50,000 in middle position, and the player on his left three-bet to 135,000. Jacques Napiot was in the small blind and made the call, as did Abbosov.
When the K♥5♦3♠ flop hit the felt, Napiot led out for 250,000. Both of his opponent's pitched their cards.
Napiot whipped his 9♥5♥ face up as he scooped the pot.

Yury Bochkarev opened 50,000 on the button, and Sergi Reixach defended the big blind.
When the 7♠5♥4♣ flop hit the felt, both players checked to the 6♠ turn. Reixach led for 40,000, and Bochkarev called.
The A♣ completed the board on the river, and Reixach slowed down with a check. Bochkarev fired 150,000 across the line, and after going into the tank, Reixach let it go.
