Matthias Lipp opened 125,000 on the button, and Dmitry Gromov shoved from the big blind. Lipp went into the tank, asking for a count. The dealer broke down the chips, and let him know it was 970,000. After a few more moments, he dropped a chip across the line to make the call.
Dmitry Gromov: A♥10♦
Matthias Lipp: A♠7♠
Gromov had Lipp dominated with the better ace-high and was able to hold as the Q♠4♥3♥3♦6♣ board ran out.
The action paused as the floor announced hand-for-hand play. All dealers were instructed to finish their current hands before proceeding. However, despite this, six players decided to go all in on this hand, prompting the floor to announce each all-in separately. PokerNews captured two of these showdowns.
PokerNews and the floor convened at the table where the board displayed J♣4♥Q♠5♣. Amir Etemad was at risk and revealed 8♦8♥ for a pair of eights, while Stefan-Sebastian Ionita was the caller with 4♠5♥, securing two pairs. The K♣ on the river didn't alter the outcome, and Etemad was eliminated from the tournament.
At the neighboring table, the board had already revealed 9♣7♠3♦2♠K♠, with approximately 2,200,000 in the pot. Consequently, the floor requested a showdown.
Leonid Orman: A♣Q♣
Farid Jattin: J♦J♠
Orman's ace-high hand wasn't enough, leading to his elimination from the tournament.
Additionally, there were two more bust-outs: Parahat Nurmuhammedov and Robert Macsim. All four players will share the prize money for the 189th place, totaling $8,500.
Mikhail Zavoloka raised 125,000 under the gun, and Mitchell Johnson defended the big blind.
The dealer fanned a flop of 10♦6♥3♥, and Johnson check-called a continuation bet of 205,000 from Zavoloka.
The 6♦ fell on the turn, and Johnson checked once more. Zavoloka thought about it for about 20 seconds, and fired 400,000 across the line. Johnson made the call.
When the 7♦ completed the board, Johnson quickly checked, and Zavoloka used a time bank card before deciding to check-back.
Johnson tabled A♥3♣, and that was good as Zavoloka mucked his hand.
Leon Sturm opened the betting from the cutoff with a raise to 120,000, which was called by Tom Talboom in the big blind.
On the flop 2♠8♦10♦, Talboom check-raised Sturm's bet of 80,000 to 275,000. After some consideration, Sturm made the call.
When the Q♣ appeared on the turn, Talboom seized the initiative with a bet of 160,000, which Sturm again called.
With the 10♥ landing on the river, Talboom went almost all in with his remaining stack of 545,000, leaving just 35,000 behind. Sturm entered a period of deep thought but ultimately chose to fold.
