Denise Pratt Confronts Poker Debtor Maurice Hawkins at Payout Desk | PokerNews Podcast #889

In the 889th episode of the PokerNews Podcast, Chad Holloway, Mike Holtz, and Kyna England talk about the recent drama involving, you guessed it, Maurice Hawkins and Denise Pratt. The latter claims to be owed $11,200 after backing the former, and things boiled over when she confronted him at the payout desk at the WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Tunica stop.

What's more, the crew reacts to an interview Hawkins gave on his own podcast, him agreeing to come on the PokerNews Podcast before not responding, and then goes one-on-one with Denise Pratt to hear her side of the story.

Ameen Can't Crack Kanme's Aces

Sam Ameen raised to 25,000 under the gun and received two calls before Raoul Kanme squeezed to 110,000 from the small blind. Ameen four-bet jammed for 350,000, which only Kanme called.

Anme ran his Big Slick into Kanme's bullets, and needed a miracle to stay alive. The Q♠5♦2♥ flop meant only running cards could save Ameen. The K♣ turn offered some help to Ameen, but the 10♦ on the river wasn't enough, and all of Ameen's stack was sent over to Kanme.

Yaghmai paired his king on the 2♠8♣K♠ flop to leave Mokrani drawing dead on the 8♦ turn. The 4♣ river did not matter anymore as Mokrani quickly vacated the tournament area.

A player in early position raised to 25,000 and Mekan Yusupov three-bet to 65,000. When it folded back to Yusupov's opponent, he shoved for around 150,000. Yusupov got a count from the dealer and then made the call.

The early position player had the goods with pocket Rockets, and Yusupov needed to deliver a bad beat to win the pot.

The dealer burned a card and then revealed J♠Q♥4♥ to give Yusupov top pair, and some chance of cracking his opponent's aces. However, the rest of the board came J♦4♦, and around a third of Yusupov's chips were sent to his opponent.

After a raise and a call, Dauren Zhaparov three-bet jammed his stack of 150,000 in the middle. The player in the big blind then went all in as well, for 290,000 chips. The other players got out of the way, and the players showed down.

Zhaparov flopped a set on 3♥4♥K♠ for a huge lead. The big blind turned some outs on the Q♥, but he did not fill up on the 2♠ river, doubling up Zhaparov instead.

There was a raise to 25,000 from early position before the player in the small blind jammed his stack of 130,000 into the middle. Pascal Vos went into the tank for around a minute before moving all in himself for around 200,000. The initial raiser folded, and the cards were revealed.
