Players are being sent on a 20-minute break.
There was a raise to 6,000 from middle position and two calls before Vasile Valentin Anghel squeezed to 31,000 from the small blind. Only Rustam Khamatgareev called from the hijack.
Anghel continued with a bet of 20,000 on the 10♦7♠3♣ flop, and Khamatgareev called.
The turn came the 10♥ and Anghel slowed down and checked. Khamatgareev now bet out for 20,000 himself. Anghel put in the call.
The river was the 10♠ and Anghel checked for the last time. Khamatgareev bet 55,000, and after a few moments, Anghel check-raised to 190,000. Khamatgareev tossed in all of his time bank chips, and thought for around two minutes, before making the call.
Anghel showed A♥7♥ for a full house, tens full of sevens. However, he lost the pot to the Khamatgareev's better boat with 8♠8♥

Baltazar Five just got a huge boost to his stack and is nearing a million now after just being on the right side of a cooler.
There were already around 100,000 chips in the pot on a 3♥Q♦2♦ board when both Baltazar Five and Joseph Mouawad put in 75,000 to see a 7♦ turn. Baltazar Five shoved for around 400,000, and Mouawad eventually called off his remaining 250,000.
Joseph Mouawad: K♦K♠
Baltazar Five: A♥A♠
The job wasn't done for Baltazar Five as he had to fade a king or a diamond on the river to secure the pot, but he did manage to do so when the 4♥ completed the runout.

Heads-up to a flop of Q♦9♥4♣with roughly 50,000 in the middle, where a player in early position checked to Chris Da Silva in the cutoff. Da Silva checked behind and the 10♦ rolled off on the turn. The early position player checked again, only for Da Silva to put out a bet of 17,000. Da Silva's opponent instantly called.
The action checked to Da Silva on the 3♠ river and he bet out for 55,000. The early position player snap-called, and then quickly mucked after Da Silva flipped over K♦Q♥ for a pair of queens.

Halil Tasyurek has started well on Day 1b and has a stack of around 375,000 to work with as the third level of play begins.
In the latest hand he played, there were already around 80,000 chips in the pot on a 10♥9♠2♥8♦ board where Tasyurek checked from the hijack and the button checked behind.
The river brought a 5♦ and after some thinking, Tasyurek threw out a bet of 28,000. That was enough to earn him the pot as the button laid his hand down.

A full board was out and showed Q♦6♠8♥A♦10♥. Ali Zebarjad was the first to act from middle position and decided to throw out a bet of 55,000. Panagiotis Mavritsakis was seated in the next seat and thought about his options for a while before settling on a call.
Zabarjad turned over 9♣6♣ for just a pair of sixes. Mavritsakis could beat that with A♣10♠ for two pair, and the pot was pushed to him.

Sergei Kim made it 5,500 from early position and Yevhen Sukhov three-bet to 25,000 out of the big blind. Kim called.
The dealer put out a flop of J♠Q♠7♣ and Sukhov continued with a bet of 22,000. Kim made the call.
The turn came the 7♠ and Sukhov bet again, this time for 35,000. Kim once again made the call.
A third seven, the 7♦ dropped on the river and Sukhov jammed for roughly 100,000. Kim pondered briefly before making the call.
Sukhov turned over a boat with A♥A♠ to win the pot, as Kim showed an inferior full house holding J♥9♥.

The 2025 Mediterranean Poker Party $5,300 Main Event is unfolding at a more gradual pace compared to last year’s record-breaking edition. Day 1a drew 227 entries, down from 349 in 2024, with 55 players bagging up chips versus 88 a year ago. Today’s Day 1b has already crossed the 200-entry mark by Level 2, setting the stage for a strong turnout.
Last year’s Main Event ultimately reached 1,260 entries, generating a massive prize pool that saw Azamat Lamkov walk away with the trophy, the title, and $1,000,000 for his victory after four days of play.
This year, with an expanded structure that features five Day 1 flights—including two turbos—players have more chances to jump in and chase their share of the $5,000,000 guaranteed prize pool. While early numbers may be slightly behind, the action is just getting started, and the best may still be to come.
