Day 1c Completed
Day 1c of the $5,300 Main Event at the 2025 Mediterranean Poker Party has wrapped up inside the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel Casino & Spa, with another 339 entries added to the growing tally. That brings the total to 921 runners across the first three starting flights, with just two turbo Day 1s remaining before registration officially closes.
It was a day dominated by big stacks and big swings, and no one bagged more than Ryhor Karapanau, who closed the night with 3,395,000. During Level 3, Karapanau got an early Christmas present when Mustafa Yildiz five-bet shoved ace-queen for well over 200 big blinds. The Cowboys of Karapanau held up, which rocketed him to the top of the leaderboard, where he stayed throughout most of the day.
Karapanau was followed by Damir Gabdullin (2,860,000) and Halil Tasyurek (2,805,000), both of whom quietly built their stacks into serious contenders.

Day 1c has ended and the player are bagging up their chips.
Stay tuned for a recap of the day's action and the chip counts.
Alexandros Kolonias had his stack of around 600,000 in the middle and at risk against Sergei Kim right at the end of Day 1c.
Alexandros Kolonias: K♦Q♣
Sergei Kim: J♥J♣
Kim had the best of it preflop and took a huge leap towards winning the pot when the flop came 7♦8♣J♦. An 8♠ on the turn sealed it, and a meaningless Q♥ fell on the river.

Julian Menhardt and Mehmet Demirkol were heads-up on a flop of Q♦7♠5♣. With around 315,000 in the middle, Menhardt checked over to Demirkol, who fired a bet of 85,000.
Mehardt called to the A♣ turn, where he check-called again, this time for 225,000. Demirkol fired a third battle on the 7♦ river, placing a bet of 375,000.
Menhardt spent some time in the tank before flicking in a calling chip. Demirkol tables A♠Q♠ for top two pair, claiming the pot as Menhardt nodded and added his cards to the muck.

Three more hands will be played on each table before Day 1c wraps up.
Andrey Pateychuk raised to 50,000 from under the gun and Yassin Mahmoud shoved from middle position for 650,000. When the action got back to Pateychuk, he did some inventory before making the call.
Yassin Mahmoud: A♥Q♠
Andrey Pateychuk: 6♦6♣
Mahmoud was flipping for his tournament life right at the end of Day 1c and didn't find anything that could save him on the 4♠K♣9♥ flop. A 10♥ on the turn did add four more outs as he picked up a gutshot to Broadway, but it was Pateychuk who still held the lead.
That lead changed hands when the J♠ landed on the river, as Mahmoud completed his straight draw and earned himself a late double-up.
