Liperis Gains Momentum

Yiannis Liperis opened to 150,000 from early position. Chris Da Silva called on the button, and Hadi Khordbin defended his big blind.

After Khordbin checked the 8♠K♦3♦ flop, Liperis bet 115,000. Silva called, but Khordbin folded.

The 9♣ landed on the turn and both players checked to see the Q♠ roll off on the river. Liperis bet 190,000, forcing Silva to fold.

Jakub Sterba raised to 100,000 from under the gun and only Kirill Shcherbakov called from the big blind.

Shcherbakov checked the 8♣6♠2♦ flop, and Sterba bet 100.000. Shcherbakov quickly called.

The 10♦ turn went check-check for the 6♥ to appear on the river. Shcherbakov now led out for 225,000, forcing Sterba to fold.

Hadi Khordbin raised the hijack to 100,000 and Yiannis Liperis shoved the button for 1,075,000. When it got back to Khordbin, he confirmed the count and then made the call.

Liperis needed to win the flip to stay alive and without actually improving to a made hand, found a pretty decent flop on 7♥2♥5♥ as he picked up a flush draw. A 7♠ on the turn was a brick and prompted Liperis to turn away and start to stand up, but the A♠ river made him get back in his seat as he doubled up.

Mahmoud Shows the Bluff

A big pot was brewing between Aleksandr Blokhin and Yassin Mahmoud. There were already around 900,000 chips in the pot on a 2♥7♣J♥ flop when Blokhin checked from the big blind and Mahmoud fired 200,000 from under the gun. Blokhin called.

A 9♥ hit the turn and again Blokhin checked, and again Mahmoud fired. A bet of 525,000 was counted out and slid forward, then without much thinking, Blokhin called.

When the 5♠ hit the river, Blokhin checked for a third time and after counting out his stack, which had a little less than 2,000,000 in it, Mahmoud bet 825,000. Blokhin used his full 30-second allowance and ultimately decided on a fold.

"I was bluffing," said Mahmoud as he showed A♣2♣.

Tomescu Folds to a River Check-Raise

There was a raise from under the gun to 100,000 before George Tomescu three-bet to 325,000 from the button. When it got back to Tomescu's opponent, he called to see a flop.

The action checked to Tomescu on the J♦8♣3♥ flop and he put out a continuation-bet of 325,000, which his opponent called.

The 8♥ turn checked through and the Q♠ appeared on the river. The under-the-gun player checked, and Tomescu bet 800,000, with just 750,000 behind. Tomescu's opponent shoved to put Tomescu all in, and after a short while, Tomescu slid his cards into the muck.

Petkov Picks Up the Rockets

There was a raise to 100,000 before Maksim Shornikau three-bet to 300,000 from the cutoff. Lachezar Petkov was in the big blind and four-bet shoved for 930,000, which got the initial raiser to fold. Shornikau rechecked his cards and with a covering stack, made the call.

Petkov had picked up the rockets and was in prime position to scoop a pot worth around 2,000,000. The flop of K♥K♣Q♣ was full of paint, but didn't contain any of the jacks that Shornikau needed. A 9♠ on the turn did give him a few more outs, but the 3♦ river bricked off, meaning Petkov doubled up.

The dealer spread out a flop of 2♥8♣5♦ and Gulseven check-called a bet of 125,000 from Frankowski.

The two players checked through the 3♠ turn to see the 8♠ drop on the river. Gulseven led out for 175,000, prompting a quick fold from Gulseven.

Nemanja Lukovic shoved for around 550,000 from under the gun and Javier Hormazabal put his stack of slightly less in the middle from the hijack.

Lukovic needed to find an ace otherwise his stack would be decimated. The flop of 9♠8♦8♠ didn't seem to offer much in the form of help and neither did the Q♥ turn. Lukovic couldn't improve on the Q♣ river, and he was left with just a few big blinds.

In the next hand, Vlado Banicevic raised from under the gun and Lukovic called off his last few chips from the big blind.
