Action was on the turn on a board of 4♣5♥5♣7♣ when Mehmet Dalkilic and Anatoly Korochenskiy stacked off. Korochenskiy made the final shove and Dalkilic called for 2.4 million.
Dalkilic had A♦A♣ for two pair, fives and aces, and also had a flush draw. Korochenskiy had 5♦3♥ for trips and was ahead. The river fell the 2♣ and Dalkilic made a flush to win a huge pot.
Safi Haidar open-shoved for 1,625,000 from middle position and Congya Zhang shoved over the top from the button. Players flipped their cards.
Safi Haidar: Q♣J♦
Congya Zhang: A♦Q♥
Haidar was in trouble and an ace appeared in the window straight away on the 2♥K♥A♣ flop to give Zhang top pair. The K♣ and 9♣ river ended it, and Haidar was eliminated in 16th place for $15,600.
Picking up the action on the A♣K♦J♠ flop, Selahaddin Bedir checked and Rustam Amirbekov bet 350,000, which Bedir called. Both players checked it through on the K♠ turn to see the Q♣ river.
Bedir fired out a small bet of 150,000 and Amirbekov just called. Bedir showed K♥Q♥ for a full house to win the pot.
Omar Lakhdari open-raised to 300,000 from middle position and Fahredin Mustafov three-bet to 750,000 from the hijack. Nack on Lakhdari, he four-bet all in and Mustafov folded.
The 2026 Mediterranean Poker Party is now in full swing, with Day 3 of the $2,200 Global Poker Championship about to kick off at the Merit Crystal Cove Casino. There are just 16 players left in contention for the $300,000 top prize, and the event will play down to a winner today.
Sergei Petrushevskii sits at the top of the counts after winning a huge pot at the end of Day 2 to take his chip count up to 13,245,000. He is on track for his biggest ever score after a stellar performance throughout the tournament.
Yilu Yuan is currently in second place with 11,045,000, and is the only other player who has over 10 million chips heading to the final two tables. Yuan will be looking to top his fourth place finish in the NOIR Poker Series Merit Poker Cup earlier this year and is well positioned to do so as play resumes.
Two-time WSOP bracelet winner Fahredin Mustafov, who has over $12.1 million in live tournament cashes to his name, is still in contention, sitting around the middle of the pack with 5,200,000. Adrian State and Selahaddin Bedir are also still in the mix. Both are capable players who are more than accustomed to making final table runs.
