Ermanno Pacini Leads the Race to the Money as 210 Return For Day 3 of the $2,200 La Notte Degli Assi

The money bubble will burst on Day 3 of the Merit Poker Dolce Vita Series $2,200 La Notte Degli Assi.

Just 210 players out of a packed field of 1,133 return once action resumes at noon local time inside the Merit Crystal Cove Hotel and Casino. Ermanno Pacini of Italy is the current chip leader with 1,697,000, followed by Guillermo Gordo (1,538,000), Asaf Groofi (1,435,000), and Iraklis Manikaros (1,329,000).

Further down the leaderboard are Merit Poker Carmen Series champion Elie Farah (992,000), Mihai Niste (698,000), $1,100 IPO Master runner-up Candido Cappiello (696,000), EPT champion Nicolas Chouity (638,000), and Turkish high roller Selahaddin Bedir (568,000).

The first order of business on Day 3 will be to burst the bubble. Only the top 134 players will make the money, so dozens of players will have made it this far but leave with nothing. The official prize pool will be announced shortly after play begins.

The action picks up on Level 18 at 4,000/8,000 with an 8,000 big blind ante. The average stack is still nearly 70 big blinds at the start of the day, so there is still plenty of room for maneuvering and setting yourself up for a run at the title.

The flop came A♠K♥J♦ and Haidar bet 10,000. Skarparis called and the K♦ fell on the turn, where Haidar bet another 20,000.

Skarparis then raised to 55,000 and Haidar called. The river was the 9♥ and Skarparis bet 105,000.

Haidar called and Skarparis showed Q♦5♦ for a missed straight draw. Haidar turned over K♣7♦ for trip kings as he took down the first pot of the day.

Samir Nacer raised to 20,000 in middle position and received three callers to the 7♦6♣2♥ flop.

Nacer then bet another 75,000 and action folded to Ege Guven in the small blind, who moved all in for 273,000. The table folded back to Nacer who asked for a count and tanked for several minutes before eventually surrendering the pot.
