Michaud Keeps Fighting

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Grzegorz Kozieja came in with a raise to 50,000 from middle position before Clement Michaud three-bet to 150,00 with just 15,000 behind. After it got back to Kozieja, he jammed and Michaud called off his remaining chips.

Clement Michaud: JJ All in
Grzegorz Kozieja: QJ

Michaud found a good spot to get the much-needed double-up. The flop of AA6 didn't change anything, and neither did the 4 turn. There was no queen on the river for Kozieja, as it came the 3, meaning Michaud doubled up.

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Soraya Estrada

Oleg Svintsov opened with a min-raise to 50,000 from the cutoff and only Soraya Estrada called out of the big blind.

The flop came down A78 and Estrada check-called a bet of 30,000 from Svintsov.

The J landed on the turn and Estrada check-called another bet from Svintsov, this time for 35,000.

When the 9 landed on the river, Estrada chose to lead out for 125,000, which was enough to force Svintosov to lay his hand down.

Samuel Ju Eyes Another Title as $5,300 High Roller Reaches Final Day

Samuel Ju
Samuel Ju

The $5,300 High Roller at the 2025 Merit Poker Carmen Series has reached its final stage, with 39 players returning for Day 3, inside the stunning Crystal Cove Hotel and Casino. The record-breaking 270-entry field has been whittled down, and now the remaining contenders have their sights set on the $260,000 first-place prize.

Leading the charge is Dawid Smolka with 2,700,000 chips, giving him a commanding stack as he looks to secure the biggest victory of his career. Right behind him is Simas Karaliunas (2,170,000), followed by Dmitry Kataev (1,840,000), both in prime position to challenge for the title.

Among those still in contention is Samuel Ju, who has already made his mark at this series by taking down a bounty tournament just a few days ago. The high-stakes professional arrived in Cyprus fresh off competing at the Triton Poker stop in Jeju, South Korea, where he battled against some of the world’s best. With that level of experience, it’s unlikely that the pressure of playing deep in another event will faze the ever-stoic Ju, as he looks to add another title to his growing resume.

The first hurdle for players today will be maneuvering their way onto the final table, where every pay jump becomes increasingly valuable. With the remaining players having locked up $7,600 from the $1,244,000 prize pool, the pressure will be on to make a deep run and battle for a six-figure payday.
