Sakallioglu Calls Filton's All In Blind and Finds Kings

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Shari Filton was down to just 75,000 and put her two and a half big blinds in under the gun. It folded round to Ali Sakallioglu in the big blind and he told Filton that "I haven't looked at my cards yet but I call."

Ali Sakallioglu: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Shari Filton: {9-Spades}{7-Spades}

The table laughed when Sakallioglu turned over pocket-kings and he insisted he really hadn't looked at his cards. Nothing untoward happened on the {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{3-Spades} board and Filton busts.

Ponomarev Chipped Up

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Nikolay Ponomarev is up over 2 million chips now. That is in spite of losing a 1.1 million pot against Duncan Mackie.

Ponomarev had limped preflop and there was one other caller behind before Mackie checked his option.

The flop fell {4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} and Mackie led for 75,000, which got one player out of the hand, but not Ponomarev.

Heads up on the {7-Clubs} turn and Mackie wasted no time moving all in for 410,000. After asking for a count, Ponomarev used a time-bank card and made the call.

Duncan Mackie: {a-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Nikolay Ponomarev: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

Mackie had two pair and Ponomarev didn't find a queen or one of his counterfeiting outs, giving Mackie the double.

Yong Eliminated by Miller

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Feature Table: Another short-stack all in took place just before the dinner break and this time it was Christopher Yong who had got five big blinds in unoped on the button, with {k-Clubs}{7-Spades} in the hole.

Gary Miller was sat in the big blind and called the 99,000 more with {j-Spades}{6-Spades}. A jack on the {j-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop, saw Miller take the lead and a {j-Hearts} turn locked it up, with Yong getting out of his seat before the irrelevant {3-Hearts} completed the board.

Basbaydar Doubles Through Moneymaker

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Feature Table: Firat Basbaydar has been nursing a short stack but has just managed to get his remaining chips in good, with {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs} against PokerStars Pro Chris Moneymaker's {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.

Basbaydar held through the {2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} board and lives on, albeit still below average in chips.

Duarte Outflops Spataru

Level 23 : 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Dan Spataru opened the betting to 60,000 and Nuno Duarte defended his big blind.

Spataru continued for 40,000 in position on the {4-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop and Duarte check-called. There was no betting on the {a-Spades} turn, taking them to the {9-Spades} river.

Duarte checked again and Spataru bet 100,000, which was immediately called by Duarte who had flopped two pair with {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} against Spataru's {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}.

More Eliminations

Level 23 : 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Kassouf Eliminated

Level 23 : 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Feature Table: Victor Nitel open limped the hijack and William Kassouf decided the time was right to get the last 106,000 chips in. Nitel looked a little unsure but at first but ultimately found a call after Kassouf's table chat appeared to talk him into it.

Victor Nitel: {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
William Kassouf: {k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

There was no sweat on the {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop, with Nitel hitting the stone cold nuts. The {j-Spades} turn and {k-Spades} river were irrelevant and Nitel sends Kassouf to the rail.
