Byung Shin opened to 16,000 on the button before Yang Li jammed for 181,000 from the big blind. Shin confirmed the count before he stuck in the call.

Li was in rough shape as his ace was dominated until the 8♠7♣6♦ flop gave him an open-ender. The 9♥ came on the turn to give Li the straight and he avoided a chop on the K♠ river to find the full double and survive.
Sami Bechahed raised to 16,000 under the gun and Nikolai Tulin three-bet to 45,000 in early position. Bechahed called and they went heads-up to the 10♠7♦6♥ flop.
Both players checked and the Q♦ fell on the turn. Bechahed then bet 32,000 and Tulin raised to 85,000. Bechahed moved all in and Tulin called for 164,000.
Tulin had A♣Q♥ for top pair, while Bechahed was on a straight draw with J♣9♣. The A♠ fell on the river to give Tulin two pair and earn him a double up off the defending champion.
Jeremy Becker opened from under the gun and Chad Lipton folded Ax6x face-up from the big blind, leading Becker to show A♣K♣.
The next hand, Jon Swift opened in early position and Becker defended out of the big blind.
Becker checked on the flop of K♠Q♥7♠ and Swift continued for 12,000. Becker called. Becker check-called again on the 9♠ turn as Swift sized up to 60,000.
Becker checked once more on the A♠ river and Swift used a time bank before moving all in as Becker snap-folded to hold onto his stack of around 240,000.
Maria Konnikova was all in for around 200,000 from the small blind and up against Jonathan Borenstein in the cutoff.

Konnikova had Borenstein dominated as the flop came 3♥6♣K♥. Konnikova hit a pair on the Q♦ turn, while Borenstein picked up a straight draw. The 9♦ river was safe for Konnikova and she doubled up.
"Fun orbit," Borenstein said as he handed over another double up.
Terrance Reid raised to 16,000 in the hijack and Jonathan Tamayo moved all in for 143,000 in the cutoff. Jonathan Borenstein then reshoved in the big blind and Reid got out of the way.

"Fair," Tamayo said upon seeing he was flipping for his tournament life.
"I hope you lose. I don't care that you're in the tournament, I just want the chips," Borenstein replied.
Borenstein stayed in the lead through the turn on a board of J♥3♣J♣9♠, but Tamayo hit the K♦ on the river to make two pair and double up.
Brian Frasca opened to 16,000 from under the gun and Manuel Fritz defended from the big blind.
The flop came K♣10♦8♥ and Fritz check-called a 13,000 bet from Frasca.
Frasca bet 58,000 when checked to on the 4♣ turn and once again Fritz made the call.
On the 9♦ river Fritz checked and Frasca moved all in for 149,000. This time Fritz opted to fold and Frasca took the pot without showdown.
Joel Micka opened the button and David Coleman defended his big blind.
Coleman check-called a 15,000 bet on the Q♣10♦9♦ flop.
The 4♦ turn checked through to the 2♣ river which saw Coleman lead for 18,000. Micka then put out a stack of 5,000 chips equal to a 100,000 raise. Coleman went into the tank and burned through a time bank before he flicked in a chip to call. He got the bad news immediately as Micka tabled K♦7♦ for a slowplayed turned flush as he got extra river value out of Coleman.
Christian De Leon moved all in for 86,000 on the button and Mike Vanier called in the big blind.

De Leon took the lead on the K♦8♠5♥ flop with top pair, then improved to two pair as the board ran out 6♦10♥ to earn a double up.
Jared Jaffee opened to 16,000 from the hijack and Mike Vanier defended from the big blind.
The flop came K♠6♠3♠ and Vanier check-called a 10,000 bet from Jaffee.
Vanier check-called another bet from Jaffee on the 2♣ turn, this time for 35,000.
On the Q♦ river Vanier checked and Jaffee bet 109,000. Vanier made the call.
Jaffee turned over the nut-flush with A♠10♠ before dragging in a healthy pot.
