Byung Shin opened to 16,000 on the button before Yang Li jammed for 181,000 from the big blind. Shin confirmed the count before he stuck in the call.

Li was in rough shape as his ace was dominated until the 876 flop gave him an open-ender. The 9 came on the turn to give Li the straight and he avoided a chop on the K river to find the full double and survive.

Tulin Dodges the River to Double Off the Champ

Sami Bechahed raised to 16,000 under the gun and Nikolai Tulin three-bet to 45,000 in early position. Bechahed called and they went heads-up to the 1076 flop.

Both players checked and the Q fell on the turn. Bechahed then bet 32,000 and Tulin raised to 85,000. Bechahed moved all in and Tulin called for 164,000.

Tulin had AQ for top pair, while Bechahed was on a straight draw with J9. The A fell on the river to give Tulin two pair and earn him a double up off the defending champion.

The next hand, Jon Swift opened in early position and Becker defended out of the big blind.

Becker checked on the flop of KQ7 and Swift continued for 12,000. Becker called. Becker check-called again on the 9 turn as Swift sized up to 60,000.

Becker checked once more on the A river and Swift used a time bank before moving all in as Becker snap-folded to hold onto his stack of around 240,000.

Borenstein stayed in the lead through the turn on a board of J3J9, but Tamayo hit the K on the river to make two pair and double up.

Brian Frasca opened to 16,000 from under the gun and Manuel Fritz defended from the big blind.

The flop came K108 and Fritz check-called a 13,000 bet from Frasca.

Frasca bet 58,000 when checked to on the 4 turn and once again Fritz made the call.

On the 9 river Fritz checked and Frasca moved all in for 149,000. This time Fritz opted to fold and Frasca took the pot without showdown.

The 4 turn checked through to the 2 river which saw Coleman lead for 18,000. Micka then put out a stack of 5,000 chips equal to a 100,000 raise. Coleman went into the tank and burned through a time bank before he flicked in a chip to call. He got the bad news immediately as Micka tabled K7 for a slowplayed turned flush as he got extra river value out of Coleman.
