Beinner Happy Just to Take Out Rohani

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Matthew Beinner
Matthew Beinner

Matthew Beinner raised to 11,000 under the gun and Mohammad Rohani called in the hijack. Chino Rheem was on the button and looked over at Rohani's stack.

"Oh, you raised and he called," Rheem said, finally noticing that Beinner had been the one to raise. He called, and they went three-handed to the 1065 flop.

Beinner checked to Rohani who bet 17,000. Rheem called, but Beinner raised to 52,000. Rohani then moved all in for 124,000 and Rheem let out a laugh before folding, while Beinner snap-called.

Mohammad Rohani: J8 All in
Matthew Beinner: 66

Beinner had flopped a set, while Rohani was chasing a flush draw. The turn was the A, while the 3 river failed to improve Rohani and he was sent to the rail.

"So happy you raised the flop. I had ace-ten. If you just call the flop, you get mine as well," Rheem said to Beinner.

"I'm not greedy. I'm happy with just the one," Beinner replied.

Welcome Back for Day 3 of the NAPT Main Event

Jesse Lonis
Jesse Lonis

It's football Sunday here at the 2025 PokerStars North American Poker Tour (NAPT) Las Vegas which also coincides with Day 3 of the $5,300 NAPT Main Event. On this side of the Atlantic Ocean, it's hard-hitting, fast-paced action on the gridiron and the same can be said for what's about to take place on the poker felt.

There will be 84 players returning to their seats, all having locked up a piece of the $3,579,300 prizepool. However, over the next couple of days, they will have their sights set on reaching the final table and eventually hoisting the prestigious PokerStars Main Event trophy along with a first-place prize of $653,050.

Leading the charge after just two days is Peter Mugar who bagged up an impressive 924,000 chips, well in front of any of his nearest competition. Mugar played a couple of significant pots on Day 2 that vaulted him up the leaderboard as he looks to capture his first poker title, and what a milestone it would be. However, it will be tough sledding over the next few days as the field is littered with seasoned pros, including Jesse Lonis who currently sits in the second spot with 653,000 chips. Lonis, on the other hand, has plenty of titles on his poker resume and he will just be looking to add one more to that growing list.

Some other notable big stacks to keep an eye on throughout the proceedings today include Patrick Leonard (460,000), Shannon Shorr (403,000), Chance Kornuth (344,000), Cherish Andrews (333,000), and David Coleman (330,000). There will be no shortage of big pots played today when some of these players get seated at the same table or right next to each other.

Meanwhile, some of the short stacks will be looking to turn things around today in order to better position themselves for the remainder of the tournament. The likes of Martin Zamani (72,000), Joey Weissman (79,000), Ryan Riess (93,000), and PokerStars ambassador Kenny Hallaert (142,000) will have their work cut out for them.

The cards are scheduled to go in the air at 12 p.m. local time here on the west coast of the United States. That will be slated to be right in the middle of the opening football games as many players will have their eyes glued to the TVs around the room or to their fantasy teams on their phones. However, the pay jumps will become more significant throughout the day and their attention will need to turn to the task at hand.

Another four or five 90-minute levels are expected to be played today with a possible 60-minute dinner break after the third level of the day. The blinds will resume on level 16 with a 2,000 small blind and a 5,000 big blind and big blind ante. To view the Day 3 seat draw, please visit the PokerStars live app.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be with you through it all to bring you all of the updates throughout this event.
