Akimov Flops the Joint to Bust Duan

Thomas Boivin opened to 25,000 in the cutoff and Baurzhan Akimov three-bet to 85,000 on the button. Bin Duan was in the big blind with around 150,000 and ripped all in. Boivin quickly folded and Akimov felt obligated to call.

The dealer fanned the flop of 987 and Akimov flopped the nut straight to leave Duan nearly drawing dead. The 5 on the turn sealed the deal and the 6 on the river was just a formality.

Kai Nicholls raised to 25,000 under the gun and Thomas Boivin called in middle position. Mike Vanier then reraised to 203,000 in the cutoff and Nicholls called, while Boivin got out of the way.

Nicholls turned over 77 thinking that Vanier was all in, but Vanier showed he still had one 1,000 chip left. The flop came 726 and Nicholls moved all in. Vanier, despite knowing that Nicholls had hit top set, called off with AK.

The 8 turn left Vanier drawing dead, while the 4 completed the board on the river and sent Vanier to the rail.

Boivin Snaps Off Nicholls

Four players went to a flop of 833 where Kai Nicholls bet 40,000 from middle position. Only Thomas Boivin called in the cutoff.

The turn was the 5 and Nicholls bet 115,000. Boivin again called and the 8 fell on the river. Nicholls then announced a bet of 175,000, and Boivin called even before Nicholls had finished putting the chips in the middle.

Nicholls showed AJ for the two pair on board with ace-high, but Boivin turned over QQ to win the pot.

The 7 paired the board on the turn and Perez took over the betting lead by leading out with a bet of 42,000. Zavorotnijs just called and the 10 landed on the river. Perez checked this time and Zavorotnijs slid out a bet of 160,000. Perez used one of his time banks and then released his cards to the muck.

Nicholls then bet 80,000, and Akimov again called. The river was the 6 and Nicholls bet 150,000. Akimov quickly folded this time, and Nicholls took the pot.

The turn was the 6 and Lamperouge checked again. Akimov announced all in and Lamperouge quickly called off her stack of 123,000.

"Yes!!!" Akbarpoor shouted as he rose from his seat and slammed his fist on the table.

The 4 paired the board on the turn and both players checked to the 5 on the river. Bozkurt put together a bet of 225,000 but Shaw instantly sent his cards to the muck.

"Music to your ears when he raised," one player suggested after Bozkurt quickly flashed his JxJx to the table.
