Farhad Saadat limped in middle position only to have Daniel Negreanu make it 16,000 to go from the button. Saadat, an older gentleman, began chatting with Negreanu, who told him he had the opportunity to check in the dark first. Saadat laughed, made the call, and actually checked in the dark before the flop came down .
Negreanu followed suit and checked behind, which both players continued to do when the hit the turn. Saadat decided to bet 30,000 when the peeled off on the river, and Negreanu hesitantly called. Saadat flipped and Negreanu, who dropped to 230,000, quietly mucked.
A few hands later, an under-the-gun player raised to 14,000 and Negreanu, who was next to act, smooth-called. Everyone else got out of the way and it was heads up to the flop. The UTG player checked, Negreanu bet 20,000, and a fold ensued.
"We're you coming before the flop?" Negreanu asked, indicating he had a monster. The answer wasn't clear but Negreanu showed his pocket kings nonetheless.
Jaime "Xaston" Kaplan raised from middle position to 15,000 and David "dpeters17" Peters called on the button. THe flop came down and Kaplan continued with a bet of 20,500. Peters made the call.
The turn card was the and Kaplan bet 36,000. Peters again made the call.
The river card completed the board with the and Kaplan bet 71,000. Peters thought for a little bit and then released his hand.

Shawn Busse raised to 13,000 from the hijack position and action folded to Alex Kamberis in the small blind. He three-bet to 41,000 after asking Busse how much he had. Cynthia May folded her big blind and then Busse was back up. He moved all in for about 200,000 more and Kamberis called.
Kamberis:
Busse:
The board ran out to give Kamberis the win and send Busse to the rail. Kamberis is up to about 545,000 in chips now.
In early position, Shawn Hart opened the pot to 13,500, and Chris DeMaci three-bet to 32,000 on the button. From the big blind, David Baker was thinking sinister thoughts. He snuck in a cold four-bet, making it 80,000 total. Hart gave a long look -- long enough for Baker to order some food from the Porter -- before folding, and DeMaci asked Baker how much he started the hand with. It was another couple minutes of staring and head shaking before DeMaci released as well, and Baker scoops up the dead money.
Mark him down for about 345,000 now.
Joe Hachem raised to 18,000 only to have Pat Pezzin move all in for around 75,000. Hachem made the call and it was off to the races:
Hachem:
Pezzin:
The flop was kind to Hachem, pairing his ace and giving him the lead. The turn changed nothing and Pezzin needed a six on the river to stay alive. Unfortunately for him, it was not meant to be as the peeled off. Pezzin was eliminated from The Big Event while Hachem has mounted a nice comeback and now sits with a bit over 300,000.
