Hellmuth Smashed on the River in Crucial Pot

Phil Hellmuth has been proudly boasting of how he has only been at risk one time in the tournament. That time was earlier today when his pocket jacks were up against Tristan Wade's {K-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds}. Hellmuth survived that confrontation and has been admittedly waiting patiently for another spot.

A large outburst came from Table 6 as Hellmuth jumped from his chair and let the entire room know he was all in again. "Hold up one time baby!" he pleaded.

Three players had their cards face up in the middle of the table preflop including Hellmuth. John Venturini held {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs} and Jonathan Lessin held {K-Spades} {K-Hearts}, but Hellmuth had both of them crushed holding {A-Hearts} {A-Spades}.

The first three cards to hit the felt were {Q-Hearts} {Q-Spades} {9-Clubs}, keeping Hellmuth in the lead. "Hold up!" he yelled, "Come on!"

The dealer burned and dealt the {10-Clubs} on the turn. "Oh no, don't do it!" said Phil as he knew that card brought a lot more outs against him.

A small crowd gathered around the table and the dealer dealt the river card... {K-Diamonds}! With the case king hitting the end of the board, Hellmuth stormed off down the aisle of tables, ranting and raving about the beat he just took. He even whipped his hat into the wall on the side of the room.

All was not lost though for Hellmuth. Lessin had the least amount of chips and Hellmuth claimed the side pot between himself and Venturini. When it was all over with, Hellmuth broke just about even as he was left with 31,000 chips.
