Railers Getting Rowdy

No matter who's winning, it now looks like the same loud hard core of fans is going to shout his name. The later it gets during the Irish Open, the more excitable the crowd, and this year is no exception. They roared when Kara Scott took the blinds with a button raise, and they went crazy when Niall Smyth bet William Kassouf off the {A-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {10-Spades} board on the river and then showed {10-Clubs} {2-Spades}.

They were also just now hollering "Brad! Brad!" when Bradley Verburg raised preflop and then bet 55,000 on the flop and 80,000 on the turn at William Kassouf -- getting a fold when the board read {K-Spades} {9-Clubs} {3-Spades} {A-Hearts}.

The pace has slowed a lot lately, however: can they keep it up until a final table is reached?

Baker's Half Dozen

The first multi-way limped pot for a very long time showed promise of fireworks, but the only player to show any interest in the {8-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} {3-Diamonds} flop was under-the-gun limper Philip Baker. One small bet of 38,000 was enough to take down that tasty pot right (around 70,000) there and then.

"COME ON SMYTHY!!!"

Niall Smyth has doubled through William Kassouf to uproarious celebration from his friends at the rail. It appears that Smyth raised under the gun and Kassouf for some reason reraised out of the big blind. A shove, a call, and a showdown.

Smyth: {4-Diamonds} {4-Clubs}
Kassouf: a rather esoteric but coinflipping {10-Clubs} {9-Hearts}.

Board: {J-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {8-Spades}

This is Why No One Calls Johansson

Eventually it had to happen -- Christer Johansson had put his whole stack in the middle more times than anyone else, and he eventually got looked up by Massimiliano Tamburini.

Oops.

Tamburini: {6-Clubs} {6-Hearts}
Johansson: {A-Clubs} {A-Spades}

Board: {K-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} {10-Spades}

Johansson is up to 440,000 and no longer in the short-stack zone; Tamburini is down to 250,000.
