What started as a four-way pot preflop for 3,400 each and the jovial "I think I gonna win this pot" by Theuns Prinsloo became a major problem for the player from South Africa on a board of 7♣5♥4♦J♦9♥ as he flopped bottom set with pocket fours. He only called the action one seat behind by Dusko Radosavljevic, who revealed 7♠7♥ for a set of sevens to take a healthy chunk out of Prinsloo.
Picking up the action on the three-way turn of A♣J♥10♠3♣, Xuecheng Mi bet 16,000 from an early position and Costa Giannakopoulos called. Imran Bhojani on the button then raised to 60,000 and Mi folded. Giannakopoulos sighed and came to the same conclusion as well.
In a three-bet pot to the K♠7♣4♣ flop, Panayiotis Giannakopoulos bet 10,000 and then faced the shove by Dan Zvonaru for 76,300 total. After some consideration, the larger stack made the call.
Dan Zvonaru: K♦9♦
Panayiotis Giannakopoulos: A♦10♣
The 10♠ turn gave Giannakopoulos a few more outs but he couldn't get there on the 2♣ river.
Level: 4
Blinds: 400/800
Ante: 800
Theuns Prinsloo raised to 1,000 and Jean Pierre Sgiaravello just called as they headed to the A♦7♣5♥ flop, on which Sgiaravello check-called for 1,500. They checked the 7♦ turn to the J♥ river on which Sgiaravello reluctantly check-called a bet of 5,000.
Prinsloo tabled his 7♠4♠ for trips and Sgiaravello mucked the A♣.
The pots are far smaller than on table three, however, and Dusko Radosavljevic leads the way with the largest stack.
Panayiotis Giannakopoulos lost some chips and then won the next pot to make up for most of the losses. In three-way action, he check-called for 5,000 on the J♥8♦8♠ flop when Emily Chen bet. Dan Zvonaru also called and they checked the 6♦ turn and K♥ river. Giannakopoulos tabled the K♠J♦ to win the pot.
One table over, his father Costa Giannakopoulos dropped below the starting stack when Muzamil Gothey hit a set with the 5♠5♣.
Marko Nortje raised to 2,000 and Rajeev Poonhath called before Panayiotis Giannakopoulos then squeezed to massive 70,000.
When Nortje was in the tank, Giannakopoulos said "you know what it is". Nortje eventually called all-in for less and Poonhath folded.
Marko Nortje: A♠7♠
Panayiotis Giannakopoulos: A♣K♦
The Q♥9♠3♠ flop was a sweat, but the 6♣ turn and 9♦ river brought no help for Nortje.
What followed was a three-bet pot between Giannakopoulos and Dan Zvonaru which led to the 9♣7♥6♦ flop. Giannakopoulos check-raised from 5,500 to 16,500 and called Zvonaru's shove.
Panayiotis Giannakopoulos: 8♦5♥
Dan Zvonaru: Q♥Q♣
"Well done," Zvonaru exclaimed and then added "I am dead".
The 8♥ turn made a split pot possible but the J♠ river brought no miracle. Both stacks were counted and Giannakopoulos doubled for 162,500.
Down to around 21,000, Zvonaru three-bet jammed from the small blind and Franco Da Matta called.
Dan Zvonaru: J♠8♠
Franco Da Matta: A♣K♦
"Oh shit, that's my favourite hand ... even the suits," Da Matta said when looking at the suited jack of Zvonaru and the table chuckled. Sure enough the jack came on the J♥5♥4♣5♠2♣ board for Zvonaru to double.
Panayiotis Giannakopoulos raised to 3,500 and was called by Marko Nortje as well as Yoav Rottenberg who had re-entered into the same seat.
The K♥J♥3♠ flop was checked to the 2♣ turn on which Rottenberg check-folded to Giannakopoulos' bet of 3,500 and Nortje's call. Giannakopoulos bet the 3♣ river for 32,000 and Nortje used one time bank to fold.
Franco Da Matta raised to 1,500 and picked up two calls before only him and Rajeev Poonhath remained in the hand after the 10♦7♦7♠ flop for 3,000 each. Da Matta check-called the 4♥ turn for 6,000 and checked the 10♠ river when the board paired for the second time. Poonhath fired a third bet of 15,000 and Da Matta sigh-folded the K♠K♦ by splashing it on the felt with frustration.
The table now includes Emily Chen who had busted on the new live stream table and re-entered.
