Back-to-Back Double Ups

Level 15 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

David Peters opened to 135,000 from the cutoff and Daniel Dvoress pushed all in for 1.0 million on the button. Peters made the call but found he was dominated. Dvoress held {a-Spades}{k-Spades} while Peters showed {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}. The board ran out {9-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Spades}{5-Spades}{a-Clubs} and Dvoress doubled up his short stack.

On the next hand, the action folded around to Stefan Schillhabel in the small blind who announced all in and Ramin Hajiyev called for his last 810,000. Schillhabel tabled {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and was up against Hajiyev's {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}. Schillhabel picked up no help on the {10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs} board and Hajiyev doubled up as well.

Kanit Laughs His Way to the Door

Level 14 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Mustapha Kanit

Steffen Sontheimer opened to 100,000 from under the gun and Mustapha Kanit shoved all in for around 600,000 directly to his left. The action folded back around to Sontheimer who called with a prayer.

"I hope you don't have a pair," he said. Kanit tabled {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} and Sontheimer got what he wished for as he showed {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}.

The board ran out {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and Sontheimer's pair of sixes held up to eliminate Kanit. Even after busting a large buy-in event, Kanit was still making jokes with the rest of his table and laughing on his way out the door.

Hunichen Cracks Watson's Aces

Level 13 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

There was a massive pot brewing between Michael Watson and Chris Hunichen with the board reading {q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{j-Clubs}. Watson checked from the hijack and Hunichen bet 365,000 from the cutoff. Watson check-raised all in for a little over 1.0 million and Hunichen instantly called.

Watson tabled {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} but was drawing dead to Hunichen's {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. The insignificant {k-Hearts} completed the board and Watson was eliminated.
