Gruissem Doubles; Bitoun Busts

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Petr Liesner
Petr Liesner

On the three-way flop of {K-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}, the initial bet was already pulled in while Petr Liesner in the blinds had a raise to 26,000 in front of his cards. Philipp Gruissem then moved all in and Yair Bitoun reshoved. Liesner asked for a count and folded to the shove of Bitoun for 127,000, while Gruissem was the player at risk for 71,700.

Philipp Gruissem: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Yair Bitoun: {K-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

The {Q-Spades} turn and {7-Diamonds} river failed to improve Bitoun and Gruissem took more than half of his stack to double. Soon after, Bitoun was all in himself for around 55,000 with the {A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and Liesner looked him up with {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. After a board of {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{10-Spades}, Bitoun became the second casualty of the day, but promised to re-enter shortly via table chat.

Ensan Busts to Sinclair

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Hossein Ensan
Hossein Ensan

Wim Neys raised from early position and Moritz Dietrich three-bet to 9,500 from one seat over. "Here we go again, the chip leader bullies," Jan-Peter Jachtmann said and let go out of the blinds. Neys eventually moved all in and Dietrich quickly folded.

One table over, Hossein Ensan raised to 4,000 from the small blind and Jack Sinclair called from the big blind. Ensan instantly shoved the {10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop for his last 29,300 and Sinclair gave it some thought before calling.

Hossein Ensan: {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Jack Sinclair: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}

Neither the {Q-Spades} turn nor the {8-Diamonds} river improved Ensan and he busted for the second time in this tournament.

Jan Mach check-raised the river of a board {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{7-Spades} from 20,000 to 80,000 and that had sole opponent Matthias de Meulder well covered. The Belgian had less than 50,000 behind and eventually folded.

Yair Bitoun re-entered and lost a few chips at the start before successfully three-betting, as did Kristen Bicknell - without the re-entry part - as the Canadian is slightly down for the day thus far.

Michael Brandau doubled his short stack for 11,700 with {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} against the {A-}{4-} of Pierre Neuville on a board of {8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs} before Neuville doubled for 18,000 against Robin Hegele to leave the German short in chips.

Michaelis Takes from Ensan; Sinclair from Kokoska

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Oliver Heidel was eliminated while Paul Michaelis and Jack Sinclair both chipped up without showdown.

Michaelis raised to 4,500 and Hossein Ensan defended the big blind. On a flop of {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, Ensan checked and called a bet of 5,700 by Michaelis before the duo checked the {7-Clubs} turn. Ensan bet the {Q-Spades} river for 13,000 and Michaelis called after some consideration to win without showdown, as Ensan simply mucked his cards.

As far as Sinclair is concerned, he three-bet an open of Robert Kokoska from 5,000 to 16,000 and Kokoska called. On the {J-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop, Sinclair continued for 9,000 and Koskoska folded.

Bitoun and Neuville Eliminated

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Pierre Neuville
Pierre Neuville

With some 35,000 in the middle and the board reading {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, Pierre Neuville moved all in and Kacper Pyzara snap-called to turn over {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a flopped flush. Neuville only had {Q-Spades}{10-Clubs} for trips tens and was sent to the rail.

At almost the same time, Yair Bitoun also ran out of chips. He got it in with {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} against the {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades} of Michal Schuh on the {8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop. Bitoun had plenty of outs, but the {J-Spades} turn and {2-Spades} river were not among them.

Ensan Re-Enters

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Hossein Ensan starts bullet number three with a bang
Hossein Ensan starts bullet number three with a bang

Hossein Ensan chose to re-enter once more, but remained in good spirits as he retook his seat, despite having been knocked out of the High Roller twice already.

He wasted no time getting back into the action, min-raising to 4,000 under the gun before Sander van Wesemeal put in the 3-bet to 11,500. Michal Schuh made the cold-call on the button, with Ensan calling the rest after both blinds folded.

All three players checked an {8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop, before Ensan threw in a pink 25,000-value chip as the {4-Diamonds} landed on the turn. Both van Wesemeal and Schuh quickly folded, as Ensan starts bullet number three with a bang.

Entries and Re-Entries

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Joseph Oren lost a big portion of his stack when Kenny Hallaert made a ten-high straight and Michael Brandau followed him to the rail soon after. Antonello Capoblanco re-entered and so did Pierre Neuville, while Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier sat down not long ago to boost the field to 52 entries in total, of which 38 remain.

Dietrich Loses at Showdown; Chips Up Without

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Gerald Karlic was on the way out when his {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} were facing the pocket eights of chip leader Moritz Dietrich, who spiked an eight on the {A-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop. However, the {10-Diamonds} turn gave Karlic a set and the {4-Clubs} river changed nothing anymore.

However, Dietrich got the chips back soon after in a three-way pot with Scott Hanna and Wim Neys. It was Neys that raised to 4,200 and Dietrich flat-called, as did Hanna from the big blinf. The trio checked the {a-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} flop to Neys, who bet 6,000. Both Dietrich and Hanna called and it was Dietrich who bet the {K-Clubs} turn for 20,000 to scoop the pot uncontested.

Just before the end of the level, Robin Hegele lost his last few chips and joined the rail.
