Romanello Missing from the Theatre

Level 12 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Aleksei Istomin has boosted his stack nicely over in the theatre, as has Sergei Chantcev, while Roberto Romanello is missing. According to Richard Dubini, Romanello defended his big blind with {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and check-shoved with a gutshot and flush draw. Dubini had flopped top two with {J-}{9-} and held up.

As for Chantcev, he just sent Nikolai Nikita to the rail when his {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} got there to crack the {J-Spades}{J-Hearts} of the Ukrainian on the board of {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}.

Banks Builds Further

Level 11 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Gary Banks is among the biggest stacks in the main room right now while the seat next to him is empty. That seat formerly belonged to PokerStars Championship Sochi champion Pavel Shirshikov and Banks added that the Russian four-bet all in with {Q-}{4-} into his ace-king to bust in a battle of the blinds.

Ben Jackson was also spotted on his way out. His cards were already in the muck while Andrey Razov raked in the pot with {7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} for a straight on the board {Q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}.

"Only suckouts on this table," Martin Kabrhel added, and engaged in table chat with Steve O'Dwyer to his left immediately after.

At the start of the day the tournament field was spread across two floors and four separate buildings of the Sochi Casino & Resort. Now that one of the rooms has emptied, the second room of tables is slowly starting to break into the main tournament room.

Among the players left at the five tables in the cash game area are Vitaly Lunkin, Eugene Katchalov, Marcin Chmielewski and Andreas Klatt.

Table One With Big Names

Level 11 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

The very corner table, number one in the main room to be precise, saw Jan-Peter Jachtmann start the day and the German has since built his stack slightly. Lika Gerasimova was there all day long also, while the likes of Pierre Neuville, Moritz Dietrich and Dzmitry Urbanovich all joined.

However, the big stack is Nikolay Kulemalin, after arriving and unwrapping five million to the two seat.

Dietrich then opened to 70,000 and Urbanovich three-bet to 180,000. Jachtmann folded from the big blind and Dietrich glanced at the stack of his table neighbor before coming to the same conclusion.

Jacks for Abakhova and Melnikov

Level 11 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

After a raise to 60,000 and a call by Manig Loeser, Oksana Abakhova called in the small blind. Aleksey Melnikov in the big blind three-bet to 330,000. The initial raiser was sent into the think tank and the clock was called to see him fold. Loeser folded anbd Abakhova called.

The flop of {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} brought a check by Abakhova, a bet of 200,000 by Melnikov and a call. After the {9-Spades} turn was checked through, Abakhova bet 300,000 and Melnikov sighed before tossing in the chips. Abakhova showed {J-Hearts}{J-Spades} and Melnikov chopped it up with {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}.

Kings Crack Kings to Bust Zamyatin

Level 11 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

A player raised to 65,000 from early position and another player called.

In the next position, Mikhail Zamyatin three-bet all in for 600,000. It folded to Vadim Kuvshinov on the button who four-bet all in for over one million chips.

The initial raiser and the other player folded {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} face up, and the cards of the all in players were turned over.

Zamyatin: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Kuvshinov: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

The player who folded Jacks set out a burst of Russian which sounded suspiciously like "Give me back my Jacks!" before the flop came {3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}.

"Freeroll," said another Russian at the table. The turn was the {10-Diamonds} and the river the {5-Diamonds} giving Kuvshinov his flush and eliminating Zamyatin.

Atshemyan Busts Umarov

Level 11 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Roman Cieslik was waiting outside of the tournament area and explained that his shove for just two big blinds was called by six opponents. Cieslik flopped an open-ended straight draw with jack-ten but ultimately bricked to see an opponent with pocket sixes won the pot.

Alexander Matveev was among those to bust in the theatre and he was followed by Allmas Umarov. The player from Kazakhstan got it in with {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Arman Atshemyan called with the {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}. The board came {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{J-Diamonds} to see Atshemyan get there on the river.

Filatov Doubles

Level 11 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Soon after coming back from the break, Anatoly Filatov was all in and at risk for 800,000. Arut Lobyan called with the {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and Filatov's {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} held up thanks to a board of {7-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}.

Right after, Roberto Romanello open-shoved from under the gun and Richard Dubini called all in for less.

Romanello had the {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} and Dubini showed {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}. There was no sweat on the board {Q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts} and the partypoker Sponsored Pros chopped it up.
